Credit officers at Agribank branches advise and implement suitable credit programs for households.
From initial small loans, the stable and timely credit capital from Agribank branches in the province has helped many farming households expand production, invest in equipment, and develop sustainable economies . Many households, thanks to boldly accessing Agribank's preferential programs, have flexibly and effectively used the capital, spreading the success to other households, enabling them to prosper on their own land. Preferential capital from Agribank is not only disbursed promptly but also becomes a core driving force helping people rotate capital, expand production, and increase the value of agricultural products. The trust and loyalty of long-term customers, along with the total outstanding loan balance primarily focused on agricultural and rural lending, demonstrates that the credit flow is on the right track and yielding positive results.
Nearly 30 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Le Van Phuong, from An Nong commune, started their business raising frogs. After each harvest, the capital earned was just enough to invest in breeding stock, feed, and pond renovation for the next season. Wanting to expand their family's economic model, Mr. Phuong proactively sought out preferential credit programs from...
Agribank. Initially, the loans were small, but thanks to diligently learning from experience and techniques in commercial frog farming, along with the bank's support, his family's economic model has become increasingly effective, accumulating capital after each harvest.
Speaking about his long-standing relationship with Agribank, Mr. Phuong shared: “When borrowing from the bank, low interest rates alone are not enough. There were times when I needed to increase my credit limit, and Agribank Trieu Son branch was very flexible and quick to resolve the issue. I often sell breeding stock to farmers and commercial frogs to distributors on credit, sometimes taking several months to collect payment. Without the bank's support, my family wouldn't have been able to cope for such a long time.”
It is known that, in order to effectively utilize capital and create favorable conditions for people to access loans, Agribank branches have implemented many solutions, such as: administrative reform, shortening the time for appraising projects and loan plans, and increasing loan limits for customers. They also coordinate with local authorities to resolve difficulties and obstacles regarding loan limits and collateral. Furthermore, they regularly instruct staff to understand customers' loan needs, proactively address issues related to loan procedures and documentation, and publicly and transparently display credit policies at commune-level transaction points.
In addition to providing timely capital to customers, Agribank branches also implement mechanisms and policies to provide timely support when borrowers face risks, such as: support mechanisms, debt restructuring, debt freezing, interest rate reductions and waivers... Furthermore, the branches have proactively reviewed customers to apply and support them in benefiting from policies of the Government, the State Bank of Vietnam, and Agribank... As of early May 2026, the total outstanding loan balance of Agribank branches in the province reached over VND 66,500 billion, with loans to the agricultural and rural sectors accounting for over 85%, and more than 215,000 customers currently borrowing capital. This figure demonstrates Agribank's long-term commitment to its mission of accompanying the development of agriculture, rural areas, and farmers in localities throughout Thanh Hoa province.
Mr. Vu Van Von, Deputy Director of Agribank Thanh Hoa, said: “We continue to effectively implement preferential credit programs, accompanying national target programs such as New Rural Development; sustainable poverty reduction; socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas... Alongside business activities, the branch always actively participates in social welfare activities, contributing to improving people's lives and spreading the image of Agribank - a bank for the community.”
The capital of Agribank branches in the province has been and continues to play a key role as the "main source of funding" flowing throughout rural areas, nurturing and realizing dreams of prosperity and a better life. Not only does it help improve people's economic conditions, but Agribank also affirms its role as a partner in supporting the "Three Rural Issues" – agriculture, farmers, and rural areas – as a commercial bank dedicated to the community.
