The Thanh Hoa Power Company's Hotline team performs its duties on the power grid.

The construction of a smart grid is being implemented step by step by Thanh Hoa Power Company, focusing on upgrading technical infrastructure and digitizing management, operation, and customer care. Currently, Thanh Hoa Power Company is investing in medium and low voltage power grids as well as the 110kV grid. Many upgrade projects have been implemented to meet the increasing load demand, especially in industrial zones and new urban areas.

Along with the completion of medium and low voltage power grid infrastructure and the 110kV grid, the SCADA system has been deployed at all unmanned 110kV substations. Thanh Hoa Power Company has also completed the installation of remote metering at 100% of the metering points, with a remote metering connection rate of 98%. This includes 506 metering points at 110kV substations; 34 metering points at power line boundaries; and 29 metering points at intermediate substations.

As of June 30, 2025, the entire company has completed the conversion of 100% of meters after substations to use the EVNHES meter data collection software; the company-wide electronic service delivery rate has reached 100%; the company-wide online electricity service delivery rate at level 4 has reached 100%; the rate of cashless electricity bill payments for services with associated costs has reached 100%, with online payment via the customer service website reaching 82.3%.

The percentage of customers using cashless payments in the first six months of 2025 will reach 100% (exceeding the corporation's target of 99.33%); revenue through cashless payment channels will reach 100%; and the percentage of electricity bill payments made via automatic debit in the first six months of 2025 will reach 10.83%.

The shared software and video conferencing systems are operating stably, ensuring the company's production and business operations meet their requirements. In June and the first six months of 2025, the company achieved 100% access rate for shared software: CMIS, ERP, HRMS-QT, PMIS, QLMBA, IMIS, process digitization, etc. Simultaneously, the company completed the periodic password changes for ERP, SHQT, and ECP software on schedule, ensuring the fulfillment of the overall company's performance evaluation targets; and completed the standardization of accounts for shared software including HRMS, Doffice, CMIS, PMIS, OMS, Portal, Web GCS online, Web debt collection online on schedule.

PC Thanh Hoa conducts training on technology application for its technical staff.

With a proactive approach, in March 2025, Thanh Hoa Power Company (PC Thanh Hoa) organized an intensive training course on "Applying GenAI and AI in the Power Industry" for its management staff and specialists. Speaking at the program, PC Thanh Hoa Director Hoang Hai emphasized: “This intensive training course on “Applying GenAI and AI in the Power Industry” is not only a knowledge enhancement activity but also an important foundation for bringing AI into practical work. This technology will help improve efficiency in many areas, from load forecasting, electricity consumption data analysis, customer service optimization, automation of monitoring and operation of the power system to improving labor productivity and reducing operating costs... All units, staff, and employees throughout the company need to clearly understand how to implement AI applications, leveraging technology as an effective support tool to improve work efficiency, innovate business models, and ensure safe and stable electricity supply.”

Thanh Hoa Power Company currently manages 31 substations/49 110kV transformers (with a total installed capacity of S = 2,237 MVA, an increase of 337 MVA compared to the same period in 2024) with 72 110kV power lines (1,111.918 km long), 265 medium-voltage power lines (7,572.08 km), and 13,124 km of low-voltage power grid. The province's peak power (Pmax) increased by 8.86% compared to the same period, with some areas experiencing an increase of up to 2%. Voltage at 110kV substations was maintained stably within the permitted limits. Commercial electricity output reached 4,200.89 million kWh, an increase of 11.26% compared to the same period, completing 46.56% of the annual plan.

In the context of increasing electricity demand and the need to modernize the power industry and achieve sustainable energy transition, the development of smart grids is an inevitable trend. The overarching principle of Thanh Hoa Power Company is to enhance the reliability and safety of electricity supply, while strongly applying digital technology to optimize operational management and customer service.

In the coming period, Thanh Hoa Power Company will continue to invest in expanding the power grid towards comprehensive modernization, promoting the application of new technologies, installing electronic meters, smart switching equipment, strengthening SCADA and DAS connections, etc. It will also promote research and application of AI and IoT in load analysis and fault forecasting, helping the power industry operate safely, economically, and efficiently, building a digital ecosystem in all production and business activities, and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the province.
