Today (January 25th), Vietnam's badminton beauty queen Nguyen Thuy Linh returned home after three weeks of competition in Malaysia, India, and Indonesia. The number one Vietnamese player shared optimistically: "Three weeks have passed so quickly. I'm happy and grateful to have been on the badminton court, with my passion and effort. I'm always thankful for the journey I've been through."

Nguyen Thuy Linh concluded her three-week international competition with promising results, ready to conquer new goals in 2025.

At the ongoing Indonesia Masters international badminton tournament, part of the BWF Tour Super 500 series, Nguyen Thuy Linh ( world No. 32) was eliminated in the women's singles quarterfinals by Sung Shuo-yun (Taiwan, world No. 24). While missing the semi-finals, this was still the most successful tournament for the player from Dong Nai during her early 2025 tour. Most impressively, she defeated world No. 12 and 2019 world champion Pusarla Sindh (India) in the first round.

With her achievement of reaching the top 8 at the Indonesia Masters badminton tournament, the Vietnamese badminton beauty accumulated 5,040 ranking points and $2,850 in prize money (approximately 70 million VND). With these points, Nguyen Thuy Linh is expected to return to the top 30 in the world rankings next week.

Previously, Nguyen Thuy Linh participated in the Malaysia Open (part of the BWF Tour Super 1000 series, held from January 7th to 12th). She defeated Natsuki Nidaira (Japan, world No. 23) 2-0 (21/16, 21/19) in the first round, then lost to the current world No. 1 An Se-young (South Korea) in the second round. At the India Open (part of the BWF Tour Super 750 series, from January 14th to 19th), Nguyen Thuy Linh was eliminated in the first round by Yeo Jia Min (Singapore, world No. 13).

Having "kicked off" 2025 with three major international tournaments and promising results, Nguyen Thuy Linh returned home to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) with her family and loved ones. She will return to conquer more international tournaments later in the year to maintain her high ranking on the Badminton World Federation (BWF) leaderboard and qualify for major competitions. One of her key goals is to win a medal at the 33rd SEA Games in December in Thailand.
