Many students studying Chinese at the Vietnam-Korea College of Technology in Bac Giang are preparing to pursue vocational studies abroad. |
Currently, I am researching the admission requirements and programs of Dongguan Polytechnic Institute (China) for future study abroad opportunities. Lan Anh shared: “China is one of the world's largest manufacturing, assembly, and supply chain centers, so I plan to pursue vocational studies there to gain access to an academic environment closely linked to the practical production of large enterprises worldwide .”
In recent years, vocational training in South Korea has become a popular choice for many. Vocational schools in South Korea primarily offer work-study programs with practical experience. Therefore, vocational training programs have opened up many opportunities for Vietnamese students to study and work in South Korea. Choosing vocational training is a trend among many high school graduates today.
Popular countries for young people to pursue vocational studies include China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Germany, the United States, and Canada. Some fields that attract many international students include: microchips, semiconductors, control systems, automation, food processing, high-tech agriculture , beauty, and nursing. Tuition fees for vocational training in many countries and territories are not excessively high, making them affordable for most families, and the training duration is typically only 1-3 years.
Students pursuing vocational training in developed countries have the opportunity to study and research advanced vocational education programs, especially receiving in-depth training in practical skills and machine operation, enabling them to work in a multinational environment.
In addition to focusing on vocational skills training, students are also trained and developed in foreign languages to meet the requirements of foreign businesses. During their studies, schools strengthen links with businesses and send students for internships to equip them with vocational skills that meet international standards.
International integration
Another form of vocational study abroad that is being chosen by many students is to enroll in international cooperation programs between vocational education institutions in the province and foreign universities and colleges.
International cooperation programs have created opportunities for vocational school students to attend short-term and long-term joint training courses abroad.

| Choosing to pursue vocational studies abroad is a popular trend among many high school graduates today. Popular countries for vocational training include China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Singapore, Germany, the United States, and Canada. |
Mr. Dao Duc Quang, the school's principal, shared: "Opportunities for vocational training abroad for college students are increasingly wide open and attractive. This is a path to self-development and career building that helps young people improve their vocational skills, while also experiencing different cultures and expanding their job opportunities internationally. Currently, many developed countries have attractive policies to attract international students to study vocational training programs."
Recently, several vocational education institutions in the province have proactively strengthened connections and cooperation with universities and vocational colleges in Japan, South Korea, Germany, etc., offering various study abroad programs for students to choose from. Students receive training in essential skills for employment and have the opportunity to try out for jobs and work at renowned companies and corporations.
With the advantage of combining theory with practice, participating in vocational training programs abroad in some countries allows students to familiarize themselves with work while still in school. Afterward, students will work at the company where they interned during their studies. To meet the demands of businesses increasing production according to international standards, vocational education institutions are strengthening their links and cooperation, joining prestigious professional associations worldwide such as: the UK Vocational Council, the American Welding Society, the European Vocational Training Association, etc.
While in the past, vocational training abroad was primarily aimed at finding employment overseas, nowadays many students from Bac Ninh province tend to return to Vietnam after studying abroad to work in foreign-invested enterprises in their hometown. This is because in recent years, Bac Ninh province has become an industrial hub of Northern Vietnam, with its economic structure shifting positively towards industrialization and modernization.
To pursue vocational studies abroad, in addition to meeting requirements regarding qualifications, language skills, and health, students also need sufficient financial resources to cover tuition and living expenses. Furthermore, many vocational schools around the world offer scholarships to students from various countries. Therefore, students wishing to pursue vocational studies abroad with scholarship support should carefully research the scholarship eligibility criteria of these schools overseas.
At the same time, the Department of Education and Training continues to update and publicize the list of licensed study abroad consulting centers operating in the province to help students have more official information channels in choosing and deciding where to register for study abroad consulting services when needed.
In addition, students need to prepare teamwork skills, time management, discipline, and a professional work ethic. These are crucial tools that will not only help them integrate quickly but also serve as a bridge, supporting them to confidently step out into the world and develop their careers.
