This year, the highest tuition fee at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy is for Dentistry, at 84.7 million VND per academic year (unchanged from last year). Following closely behind is Medicine with 82 million VND per academic year (a decrease of 200,000 VND compared to last year).

Following closely behind are the following fields: Pharmacy (60.5 million VND/academic year), Preventive Medicine (50 million VND), Traditional Medicine (50 million VND), and Pharmaceutical Chemistry (50 million VND).

The following majors have the same tuition fee of 46 million VND/academic year: Nursing, Anesthesia and Resuscitation Nursing, Midwifery, Nutrition, Dental Prosthetics Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, and Public Health (tuition fee remains the same as last year). This year, the school is opening a new major: Social Work with a tuition fee of 30 million VND/academic year.

This year, Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy plans to recruit more than 2,576 students (an increase of 60 students compared to last year) through 4 admission methods, including:

  • Method 1: Based on the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam.
  • Method 2: Combining the results of the 2025 high school graduation exam with international certificates.
  • Method 3: Direct admission according to the regulations of the admissions policy.
  • Method 4: University preparatory program.

Specifically, when considering the combined results of the 2025 high school graduation exam and international certificates, the university applies this to candidates who have graduated from high school and whose results in the 2025 high school graduation exam have a total score in the B00/A00/B03/B08 subject combinations, plus bonus points and priority points (if any), that must be equal to or above the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission set by the Admissions Council of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City.

Candidates with international certificates will receive bonus points according to the regulations of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy (for all training programs). The Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy uses the results of international certificates as bonus points in the admission process.

Please note that bonus points will only be awarded if the candidate has submitted a certified copy of their international certificate (IELTS/TOEFL iBT; SAT) as required and meets the minimum score requirement. The information on the international certificate must completely match the candidate's personal information. The school will not process cases with mismatched information.

The school requires candidates to submit a certified copy of their international certificate to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City.

In the direct admission method as stipulated in the admission regulations, the following categories of candidates are eligible:

  • Labor heroes, heroes of the people's armed forces, and national emulation fighters are granted direct admission to university in any field.
  • Students who win first, second, or third prize in national or international student excellence competitions organized or nominated by the Ministry of Education and Training are eligible for direct admission in their high school graduation year; the time elapsed since winning the prize must not exceed 3 years from the time of direct admission consideration.

The university's preparatory program is offered to the following groups:

  • They are pre-university students from the Ho Chi Minh City Pre-University School and the Central Ethnic Minority Pre-University School in Nha Trang.
  • These students are eligible and meet the admission requirements stipulated in the regulations on university preparatory training; they are considered for transfer to university-level and college-level Early Childhood Education programs for preparatory university students, as issued with Circular No. 44/2021/TT-BGDĐT dated December 31, 2021, by the Minister of Education and Training; they have completed the preparatory university program and have been allocated a quota by the preparatory university school.
  • Pre-university students who meet the admission requirements for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh City.

This year's high school graduation exam will take place on June 26-27. 2025 marks the year the first cohort of students under the new general education program will take their high school graduation exam.

Candidates will take exams in four subjects instead of six as before. The two compulsory subjects are Mathematics and Literature; the two elective subjects are chosen from Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography, History, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Technology, and Foreign Languages ​​(English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, Korean). This is the first time that Informatics and Technology (Industrial and Agricultural) have been included as graduation exam subjects.

Regarding the graduation score calculation formula, exam scores account for 50%; the remaining 50% comes from the academic transcript scores of grades 10, 11, and 12, and any bonus points. Compared to before, the academic transcript score has increased by 20%. The results of the high school graduation exam will be announced on July 16th, one day earlier than last year.
