This is a series of career guidance and vocational education events for junior and senior high school students, held in 22 districts and counties of Thu Duc City, with one event day organized in each location.
By attending these events, students and parents will receive detailed advice and answers to questions regarding choosing schools and careers that suit their abilities. Through these events, the activities contribute to fulfilling the functions and tasks of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training in effectively achieving the socio -economic development targets outlined in the Resolution of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2020-2025 period.
Experts and speakers provided advice to parents and students at the vocational education and career guidance fair.
Parents and students will receive information related to career guidance, student placement after high school graduation, and further education in vocational fields; information on the workforce needs of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces. In addition, students and parents will receive specific advice on tuition fees, training methods, training duration, skills and knowledge, academic achievements after graduation, and opportunities for higher education in each field of study offered by vocational education institutions.
This series of activities is significant in helping to identify the appropriate conditions and abilities of students to choose their future fields of study, thus helping to build their careers later on.
Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Le Van Thinh, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Le Van Thinh, said that the streaming of students after lower secondary school is of particular importance to each individual and society as a whole. This contributes to providing a workforce with a structure suitable to the needs of the economy, creating opportunities for lifelong learning for everyone, and aiming towards building a learning society.
"We aim to create conditions and opportunities for parents and students of junior and senior high schools in each locality to access information about job opportunities for vocational education graduates, and about career paths for students after graduating from high school that match their abilities and strengths. At each location, in addition to the counseling program on the main stage, there will also be participation, advice, and information provision from other vocational education institutions," Mr. Thinh added.
Opening ceremony of the festival
At the event, Mr. Mai Nguyen Bao Son, Secretary of the Youth Union of Saigontourist Tourism and Hotel Vocational School, said that students and parents who come to the school's booth for advice will be able to participate in many activities and receive attractive gifts. In addition, according to Mr. Son, the school trains students in tourism-related fields such as tour guides, restaurant and hotel management, and pastry chefs.
Mr. Le Van Thinh visited the booths of the colleges and vocational schools participating in the fair.
