On November 14th, in Hanoi, the organizing committee of the 2024 China-Vietnam Border Economic, Trade and Tourism Fair announced that the fair will take place from November 26th to December 1st.
The fair is alternately organized by the People's Committee of Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and the government of Yunnan province (China) in Hekou (Yunnan) and Lao Cai (Vietnam).
To date, the two sides have jointly organized 24 trade fairs. In 2024, the fair will be held in Hekou County (Yunnan).
The fair, themed "Development Through Sharing – Cooperation for Mutual Benefit," aims to strengthen economic cooperation and cultural exchange between border localities, creating opportunities for businesses to showcase their products, seek partners, and expand their markets.
According to Mr. Hoa Dao, Director of the Honghe Prefecture Commerce Bureau (Yunnan Province), the fair is divided into two sections: the Chinese section and the Vietnamese section. The Chinese section covers an area of 5,500 square meters; the Vietnamese section covers 3,800 square meters; and it is expected to accommodate 500-600 standard booths.
Besides exhibition and sales activities, the fair also includes many other events, such as: Meetings with delegations from the governments of Lao Cai and Yunnan provinces; discussions on economic and trade development; conferences on cross-border economic, trade and logistics cooperation; and a joint China-Vietnam investment attraction conference…
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Cuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Lao Cai province, Vietnam plans to have a national pavilion, a pavilion for Lao Cai province, a pavilion for units receiving trade promotion support, and a pavilion for businesses.
Participating businesses will receive support with customs procedures and 100% of fees and charges, as well as exemption from booth rental fees. The organizers will prioritize businesses with export products and export potential to the Chinese market, and businesses with products that have achieved national brand status.
