Observations show that, taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, numerous large and small projects are being accelerated by various units and localities, with a determined effort to disburse public investment funds on schedule, creating a strong impetus for the urban landscape.
Lien Chieu District has many large-scale infrastructure investment projects, with construction taking place continuously day and night. A prime example is the Northwest Axis 1 project, which, after years of delays due to land clearance issues, is now accelerating its pace to meet its planned deadline. At the site, the joint venture of Trung Nam Construction Investment JSC and Da Nang Central Region Construction Investment JSC has mobilized dozens of machines and vehicles along with nearly 50 workers to stay on the construction site.
Construction teams simultaneously deployed the drainage system, carried out technical work, transported soil from the quarry to open the access road; and filled in the lake and treated the mud to prevent subsidence. According to a representative of Trung Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company, as soon as the land was available, the company worked overtime continuously, determined to make up for the delayed progress. The goal is to complete the drainage system section from National Highway 1A to Bau Tram Lake (approximately 400m) by June 2025. By April 2026, the entire route (approximately 800m) will have completed the earth embankment, compaction, and finishing of the crushed stone layer, ready for concrete paving to give this vital road a new look.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Huy, Director of the Da Nang Investment and Construction Project Management Board for Transportation and Agriculture Projects (the project's investor), said: "After land clearance, we instructed the contractors to focus intensely. This is a key project of the city that was previously delayed due to land clearance issues, so the contractors are mobilizing maximum manpower and equipment to accelerate progress and ensure the committed schedule is met."

At the Lien Chieu port construction site and the coastal road connecting the port, the atmosphere is one of racing against time. Mr. Tran Duy Linh, the project manager of Phu Vinh Construction Co., Ltd. (the contractor for the coastal road connecting Lien Chieu port), shared: “Despite the hot weather and scarce materials, thanks to the decisive direction of the investor, we have proactively secured materials and increased manpower and machinery.”
In recent days, the construction teams have maintained three shifts per day. It is expected that the entire project will be basically completed and handed over in December 2025.” Mr. Le Thanh Hung, Director of the City's Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board (the project's investor), added: “This is a key project, so from the beginning of 2025, the Board has been closely coordinating with the contractor to develop a detailed construction plan.”
By November 2025, we will complete all shared infrastructure of Lien Chieu Port. Specifically, the breakwater, branch lines, and main lines connecting to the port. The coastal road, interchanges, Lien Chieu Bridge, bridges over the canal, and asphalt paving will be completed, striving for synchronization along the entire route by December 2025, ensuring compliance with the Prime Minister 's directive.”
On the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan section of the expressway construction site in Hoa Vang district, the construction atmosphere is equally vibrant. Mr. Ta Gia Manh Hung, Project Director (Ho Chi Minh Highway Management Board), said: "The project has completed land clearance, the weather is favorable, and the supply of materials is guaranteed."
"We require the contractor to focus maximum resources on accelerating progress while ensuring traffic safety, as the project is under construction and will be in operation simultaneously, resulting in a very high volume of traffic." According to Mr. Hung, to speed up progress, the consortium for package XL1 has also launched a "90-day sprint to the finish line" campaign, determined to complete the project by the end of August 2025, three months ahead of schedule, in accordance with the Prime Minister's directive.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy General Director of Truong Son Construction Corporation, said that the contractor is mobilizing maximum machinery and manpower, working three shifts a day, including holidays, with the goal of achieving a daily output of approximately 3 billion VND. Construction teams are focusing on large-scale projects such as earth and rock excavation, road foundations, bridges, culverts, and underpasses.
At the construction site, hundreds of machines and workers are deployed in various areas, working continuously. Mr. Nguyen Huu Tam, a worker from Truong Son Construction Corporation, expressed: "We are working overtime and taking advantage of favorable weather to accelerate progress so that the project can be completed soon." It is known that the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project, 11.47km long, has a total capital of over 2,100 billion VND, commenced in September 2023, and is expected to be completed in November 2025. However, the management board and contractors are determined to speed up progress so that the project can be completed early in August 2025.
With bustling construction activity across the country, Da Nang is gradually completing its transportation infrastructure and urban beautification, creating momentum for breakthrough development. Key projects such as the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway, the Northwest Axis 1, Lien Chieu port, and the coastal road not only connect transportation but also affirm the determination of the government, businesses, and workers to overcome difficulties and achieve targets on schedule.
