Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chau Doc City Party Committee

On the morning of April 10th, the Executive Committee of the Chau Doc City Party Committee held its 21st expanded meeting (12th term) to assess the political tasks performed in the first quarter and to discuss the direction and tasks for the second quarter of 2025. Mr. Lam Quang Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Chau Doc City Party Committee, chaired the meeting. Representatives from the advisory and support agencies of the Provincial Party Committee also attended.

In the first three months of 2025, Chau Doc City recorded over 2.4 million visitors (reaching nearly 49% of the annual plan), and over 303,000 overnight stays (exceeding the plan by 103%). Many key projects were invested in and constructed, such as: Luong The Vinh Primary School; upgrading and paving the Canal Road, Tha La Road, and 30/4 Road; and flood control in the city… Total local budget revenue reached 708 billion VND (reaching 111% of the provincial budget estimate, 109% of the city budget estimate, and 212% compared to the same period last year); total budget expenditure was nearly 115 billion VND (reaching 18.2% of the provincial target, 17.7% of the city target, and 116% compared to the same period last year).

The locality organized many meaningful cultural, artistic, and sports activities to celebrate the Party and the Lunar New Year, and commemorate major holidays; successfully organized the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the Via Ba Chua Xu Nui Sam Festival as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity, combined with the opening of the Via Ba festival in 2025. Completed the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, and provided support for the construction and repair of houses for 13 households of people with meritorious services, with a total budget of 510 million VND from social contributions…

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing, contributing ideas, and proposing solutions related to Party building, mass mobilization, the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, budget revenue and expenditure, and construction investment. Particular attention was paid to the progress of restructuring and organizing the city's political system according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2027, of the Central Committee. Leaders of the Party Committees and People's Committees at the ward level exchanged information on socio-economic development, ensuring security and order in the absence of district-level police, and reviewing public assets before the reorganization of administrative units…

Concluding the conference, Chau Doc City Party Secretary Lam Quang Thi requested that, in the second quarter, the entire city focus on removing obstacles and unblocking public investment projects, especially social welfare projects, to serve the interests of the people. He also called for the strict implementation of the policy on reorganizing the organizational structure and administrative units according to the regulations of the Central Government and the province; the development orientation of the newly merged wards and communes based on Resolution 02-NQ/TU, dated November 24, 2023, of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the construction and development of Chau Doc City until 2025, with a vision to 2030; and a review of each indicator and the removal of identified difficulties. He emphasized the need for more decisive and effective implementation of Party building work; and the acceleration of the construction and repair of solidarity houses for disadvantaged households, following the city's completion of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by February 2025…
