The Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection, along with leaders of Truong Van commune, visited the SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice model.
The workshop was attended by representatives from the Department of Crop Production and Plant Protection; foreign agricultural experts; and leaders and over 200 households from Truong Van commune.
The SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice production model was implemented in the fields of Phuong Doai village, Truong Van commune.
In the spring of 2025, the People's Committee of Truong Van commune collaborated with Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. to implement a model for producing the SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice variety. The model was implemented in the Phuong Doai village field with a total area of 5 hectares.
Leaders of Truong Van commune, along with foreign experts and Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd., inspected the quality of the rice seeds.
The SYN12 three-line hybrid rice variety was researched and produced by Syngenta Vietnam Co., Ltd. and has been planted in many communes in the province since the 2025 crop season. This is the first season this rice variety has been grown in Truong Van commune.
The SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice variety has strong plants, many panicles, and firm grains.
Practical testing has shown that the SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice variety has many advantages: short growing season, good pest and disease resistance, good tillering, many panicles, firm grains, high yield, and delicious, sticky rice quality... The expected yield of this rice variety is nearly 8 tons/ha.
Foreign agricultural experts are surveying the quality of rice seeds.
Notably, this three-line hybrid rice variety can be cultivated in both seasons of the year, making it suitable for many low-lying, waterlogged areas in Truong Van commune. Therefore, the locality can choose to expand its cultivation area throughout the commune.

At the workshop, delegates and local farmers highly appreciated the productivity, quality, and advantages of the SYN 12 three-line hybrid rice variety. Farmers in the commune also expressed their desire for the company to establish a production linkage contract with product output, so that they can stabilize the production of this rice variety in future seasons.
