Fingerstyle Guitar Gathering 2024

(NADS) - The 5th "Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Congress" was a success, gathering young talents from all over the country, bringing an emotional music night with unique and sophisticated Fingerstyle guitar melodies.

The 5th “Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Congress” in 2024 just took place at VOH Theater – Ho Chi Minh City People’s Radio Station, attracting the attention of hundreds of guitar lovers, especially young people. This is a highly anticipated music event with the participation of young talents from all over the country, bringing the audience an emotional music night.

Fingerstyle guitar is a unique technique in the art of playing guitar, allowing the artist to simulate the sound of an entire band with just one performer. At the show, the audience enjoyed a "guitar party" in the Fingerstyle style with 20 impressive performances. Not only listening, the audience also had the opportunity to admire the skillful fingers of the young artists, as they danced on the keys, creating enchanting sounds.

The performances at the concert were mainly world- famous songs such as “Start” by Depapepe, “Autumn Leaves” by Joseph Kosma (arranged by SungHa Jung), “The Milky Way” by Sungha Jung, and “November” by Masaaki Kishibe. In particular, the new Vietnamese song “Dung Lam Trai Tim Anh Dau” by Son Tung M-TP, which is very popular with young people, also appeared, bringing a new breeze to the show.

Music lovers and guitar enthusiasts led the audience through many different emotions, from gentle and deep to explosive moments of excitement. The atmosphere of the show became more exciting with the enthusiastic cheers from the audience.

The sponsor Huong Nghiep Au Au awarded scholarships to 20 outstanding young talents in the program. One of the outstanding faces was Tran Gia Kiet, 17 years old, from Binh Thuan . With the work “Playing God,” Kiet made a strong impression. Kiet shared that he has played guitar for the past 7 years, since he was a boy. Initially, due to his love of playing games and being forbidden by his family, Kiet decided to switch to practicing guitar, a decision that he considered correct and changed his life. The work performed at the music night was also Kiet’s entry in the final round of an international competition.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Quoc, representative of the Organizing Committee and co-founder of the Saigon Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar community, shared that Fingerstyle guitar is a special music genre, bringing healthy entertainment and helping each person's soul become lighter. Mr. Quoc expressed his hope that the program in the coming years will continue to receive more support from young people who share the same passion, contributing to spreading a healthy "convergence" playground for Vietnamese youth.

The 5th "Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Congress" in 2024 truly brought a rich and memorable musical space, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the audience, while honoring and spreading the passion for Fingerstyle guitar to the music-loving community.
