Launching the annual award "Happy Vietnam 2025"

Mr. Le Hai Binh, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, chaired the press conference. National Assembly representative Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, and Mr. Do Duc Hoang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, co-chaired the press conference.

In 2025, Vietnam will make significant progress in the happiness index, rising to 46th place globally , an increase of 8 places compared to 2024 and 19 places compared to 2023. This is an important milestone, demonstrating the world's recognition and appreciation of Vietnam's policies and achievements in ensuring human rights over the past years.

In that spirit, the "Happy Vietnam 2025" Award is organized with the goal of mobilizing the broad participation of people in Vietnam, overseas Vietnamese, and international friends in creating photos, videos, or innovative ideas, telling inspiring stories, and making meaningful discoveries on the theme of a happy Vietnam. This aims to contribute to spreading positive images of Vietnam, its people, its precious cultural and historical traditions, and its socio-economic development achievements to a wider audience both domestically and internationally, thereby enhancing the country's prestige and position on the international stage.

"We organize this Award so that everyone can realize once again that they have happiness that they may not even know. Because there are many people, international friends that I have met, they say that Vietnam has something that many other nations are longing for but do not have, which is peace, independence and a peaceful life. Therefore, we organize every corner, every aspect, every person, every character, but leave a sense of pride in our country, in what we have" - Mr. Le Hai Binh shared.

Pham Anh Tuan, Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information, announced the plan to organize a series of events, exhibitions, and media awards on human rights in Vietnam in 2025.

Through the Award, the Organizing Committee wants to convey the message about Vietnam's rapid and comprehensive development in all fields: (1) breakthrough in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation; (2) international integration in the new situation; (3) innovation in lawmaking and enforcement; (4) rapid, sustainable, efficient and high-quality development of the private economy.

The clearest evidence of the country's innovative achievements, development, and people's happiness is the authentic and vivid stories, presented in images and videos on the aforementioned topics, created and submitted by the people themselves.

Journalist and photographer Ho Sy Minh, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Editor-in-Chief of Photography and Life Magazine, announced the rules of the competition.

Authors, whether professional or amateur, Vietnamese or foreign, from 15 years of age and older can participate in the Award. The entries will be carefully selected by the Organizing Committee according to specific and clear criteria, stipulated in the Award Rules and judged impartially and objectively by leading experts, journalists, prestigious photographers and filmmakers in 02 Judging Panels: Preliminary Judging Panel and Final Judging Panel.

Submission deadline: From May 22, 2025 to September 30, 2025.
