The event, organized by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, aimed to motivate and encourage artists and writers to actively create and contribute valuable works on the themes of war and revolution.
"Underground Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness," a 128-minute film based on real historical events, tells the story of the arduous lives and struggles of revolutionary soldiers in the secret underground tunnels – one of the crucial military structures that helped our army and people fight and defeat the enemy in the resistance war against the US to save the country.
The film not only depicts intense and fierce battles but also highlights the indomitable fighting spirit and fervent patriotism of our soldiers and people. These revolutionary soldiers lived and fought in the darkness of the underground, yet always maintained their faith in the light of independence and freedom.
The war is long over, but the lessons of patriotism, unity, and the indomitable fighting spirit of our nation remain invaluable. "Underground Tunnels: The Sun in the Darkness" is not just a film, but also a vivid history lesson, helping viewers, especially the younger generation, to better understand what our ancestors went through to achieve the peace we enjoy today.
The decision to screen this film on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam carries immense significance. It is not only an opportunity to relive the glorious memories, but also a chance to remind present and future generations of their responsibility to protect, preserve, and promote the values that our ancestors sacrificed their sweat and blood for.
