In a report sent to the National Assembly Standing Committee before the questioning session, Minister Bui Thanh Son said that since the 13th Party Congress, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has chaired, coordinated to organize and serve more than 100 bilateral and foreign diplomatic activities. multilateralism of Party and State leaders.
Foreign affairs activities, especially high-level foreign affairs, have deepened relations, increased the overlap of interests, and consolidated a peaceful and stable foreign environment. Hundreds of commitments and international cooperation agreements were signed, many of which have great value, making practical contributions to the country's socio-economic development. However, the implementation of some agreements and commitments has not been effective, progress is still slow, and the effectiveness and benefits of cooperation have not been fully exploited.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs said that the Ministry has increased monitoring of the situation of policy and legal adjustments in countries to inform ministries and branches, and give early warning of countries applying new trade policies and imposing measures. defense measures and risks of disputes, fraud, and international trade fraud.
The above activities have contributed positively to Vietnam's economic and trade growth in recent years. Vietnam's export growth rate has been among the highest in the world over the past 30 years, averaging nearly 18%/year.
