(NLĐO) - Extending the Tet holiday by two days aims to provide convenience for students and parents without affecting the school year's plans and tasks.
On the afternoon of December 12th, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document approving the proposal from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to increase the number of Lunar New Year holiday days for students in Ho Chi Minh City by two days in 2025.
Accordingly, the Tet holiday will begin on January 23, 2025 (the 24th day of the 12th lunar month) and end on February 2, 2025 (the 5th day of the 1st lunar month), a total of 11 days.
Thus, students in Ho Chi Minh City will have an additional 2 days off for Tet compared to the decision for the 2024-2025 school year. Specifically, 2 days before the Year of the Snake Tet holiday.
Students in Ho Chi Minh City get an extra two days off for Tet holiday.
Previously, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated that the department had proposed a Lunar New Year holiday schedule for students from January 23rd to February 2nd, 2025.
According to Mr. Hieu, extending the Tet holiday by two days is intended to facilitate students and parents and will not affect the school year's plans and tasks.
The proposal from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training to extend the Tet holiday by two days has been met with approval from most parents, students, and teachers in the city.
The previous 9-day Tet holiday was considered too short, affecting the plans of many parents and students, especially those from distant families who planned to return to their hometowns for Tet.
