The Hanoi People's Committee announced that the city plans to hold fireworks displays at 5 locations for New Year's Day and at 31 locations for Lunar New Year, with a total of 38 fireworks sites.
Specifically, for the 2026 New Year's Day celebration, Hanoi will hold fireworks displays at 5 locations, with 6 firing sites combining high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks and pyrotechnics. The displays will take place from 11:45 PM on December 31, 2025 to 12:00 AM on January 1, 2026 (Thursday).
For the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the city plans to hold fireworks displays at 31 locations, with a total of 32 firing sites. This includes 11 sites with a combination of high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks, and 21 sites with low-altitude fireworks. The fireworks will be launched at 0:00 on February 17, 2026 (Tuesday, New Year's Eve of the Year of the Horse).
Based on the actual situation, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City will propose to the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee a plan for fireworks displays during the New Year and Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse). This plan includes a New Year's Eve fireworks display with a new approach, elevating the scale and quality; researching and applying new, modern light show technologies combined with traditional fireworks to create impressive and visually stunning effects for the public.
Regarding cultural and tourism activities, the city plans to organize a series of rich and diverse events starting before Tet and continuing throughout the holiday. Historical sites will be open to serve the public and tourists throughout the holiday; many new tourism products will be launched to create a traditional Tet atmosphere characteristic of the capital city.
