Industry recovered and experienced a breakthrough growth of 9.5%; the processing and manufacturing sector grew by 10.6%, the highest in the past 5 years, creating momentum for a gradual transformation from a manufacturing hub to a deeper participation in global supply chains.
Ensuring a good supply of strategic raw materials for production, the domestic market has developed strongly, growing by nearly 10%, with Vietnamese goods dominating 90% of the distribution chain, creating new momentum for domestic growth.
Imports and exports reached a historical peak of over 920 billion USD, with exports exceeding 470 billion USD – Vietnam entered the Top 15 of the world's trading powers, ranked second in ASEAN, and achieved a trade surplus for 10 consecutive years with a record surplus despite many difficulties and unfavorable circumstances.
E-commerce continues to grow at an accelerated and sustainable pace, surpassing $31 billion, accounting for 10% of total retail sales and two-thirds of the digital economy; maintaining its position in the Top 10 countries with the fastest e-commerce growth rate in the world and Top 3 in ASEAN in terms of scale.
Trade promotion has made a strong breakthrough, elevating the country's position, brand, and soft power, boosting its ranking by 7 places thanks to trade.
Significant progress has been made in competition management, consumer protection, and trade defense supporting domestic production, especially after five years of implementing Directive 30-CT/TW of the Party Central Committee.
