According to information from the Quang Tri Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in implementing the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh" movement in the Spring of the Year of the Snake - 2025, the entire province has planted 197,052 trees of various types. Of these, 26,552 are shade trees, and 170,500 are scattered trees of various types.
Specifically, at the tree-planting ceremony commemorating President Ho Chi Minh, held in Hai Lang district, delegates planted 50 shade trees in the green space planned for the Hai Lang District Administrative Center.
Also on this occasion, in Hai Lang district, agencies, units, and people planted 440 shade trees and 86,000 scattered trees of various types. Several other localities also had a large number of trees planted, including Vinh Linh district: 1,200 shade trees and 22,000 scattered trees; Trieu Phong district: 800 shade trees and 30,000 scattered trees; and Gio Linh district: 640 shade trees and 26,500 scattered trees.
On the part of units in the province, especially the Department of Education and Training, the entire sector has been instructed to respond to and organize the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year and to implement the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee's Program to plant 1 billion new trees in the 2021-2025 period.
At the same time, we must strengthen the dissemination and education of the meaning and benefits of the Tree Planting Festival initiated by President Ho Chi Minh; raise awareness among cadres, civil servants, employees, and students about the great role and benefits of protecting forests and planting trees annually, which makes an important and practical contribution to the sustainable construction and development of the country.
As a result of the tree planting campaign launched during the Spring of the Year of the Snake (2015), the entire education and training sector planted 16,500 new trees of various types at headquarters, schools, and locations belonging to the sector in localities throughout the province.
Furthermore, during the period before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake (2015), taking advantage of favorable weather conditions, units and individuals in the province have planted over 646 hectares of production forests, equivalent to approximately 1.3 million forestry seedlings of various types. At the same time, they have organized the care, replanting, and protection of newly planted trees and young forests to ensure good growth.
