According to the producers, the online and in-person casting rounds for the film "Lật Mặt 8 " attracted over 5,000 applicants, nearly double the previous record set by "Part 7".
Two live casting sessions for the film "Lật Mặt 8" were held on October 13th and 14th. Besides director and producer Lý Hải and Minh Hà, the event also featured actors Tiết Cương and Trung Dũng, director Quốc Thuận, and actor Ngọc Tưởng.
The atmosphere at the casting location was incredibly lively, with many contestants participating, from professional to amateur actors from all over the country. Notably, the casting also brought together faces that have taken social media by storm.
Due to the overwhelmingly positive response, director Ly Hai decided to extend the casting period beyond the initial plan. Starting on the morning of October 13th, the process lasted 20 hours and concluded at 1:30 AM on October 14th.
However, a large number of contestants stayed until the very last moment, hoping for a chance to showcase their passion and energy. Many contestants had to wait 5-7 hours for their turn to cast.
"Ly Hai believes that anyone with passion, determination, and seriousness about the profession has the opportunity to become a film actor," director Ly Hai shared.
He also mentioned that this was the first time in the "Lật Mặt" franchise that the casting process had taken so long. Despite the large number of participants, the casting process was still very thorough. The creativity and unexpected improvisations of the cast members inspired the entire team, keeping everyone feeling energized.
According to producer Minh Ha, all the candidates who passed the online casting had their own unique qualities. Filmmaking requires not only professionalism but also a natural, unpretentious acting style.
"To develop further, any actor, even professionals, working in the entertainment industry must constantly learn. And these casting sessions are not only for contestants to showcase themselves, but also open up an opportunity for all those with talent who haven't yet shone," producer Minh Ha emphasized.
Previously, from September 27th to October 7th, an online casting round took place on social media platforms. The hashtag #LatMat8 also created a sensation, attracting 315 million views.
Following the casting call, Lật mặt 8 is scheduled to begin filming in December and is expected to be released in theaters around the April 30th holiday in 2025.
