On the evening of May 31, Mr. Le Viet Binh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hong Loc Commune (Loc Ha District, Ha Tinh Province) said that a forest fire occurred in this commune. Hundreds of people including functional forces, local authorities and people made efforts to put out the fire in time.

According to initial information, before about 12:30 on May 31, people discovered a forest fire, rising smoke began to break out in the area of Dong No mountain (in the area of Thuong Phu village, Hong Loc commune), so they reported it to the local authorities.
Immediately after receiving the news, the local government quickly informed and mobilized about 150 people who are commune officials, mass organizations, people in the area and surrounding areas to quickly extinguish the fire.
This is an area of Acacia Melaleuca and regenerated eucalyptus forests stretching over the area of the villages of Thuong Phu, Quan Nam, and Truong An, which has been assigned to the people and the community for management.

At the same time, functional forces including Loc Ha District Police, Border Guard, District Military Command, District Forest Protection Department and other supporting forces quickly mobilized hundreds of people with full equipment and vehicles to the scene to participate in forest fire fighting.
Leaders of Loc Ha district were also present at the scene to encourage and direct the functional forces to put out the fire to prevent its spread.

The area where the fire occurred was at a high position, with complicated mountainous terrain, thick vegetation, strong winds, intense hot weather, etc., making it difficult to approach and extinguish the fire. However, with the efforts of local authorities, functional forces and people, the fire was quickly contained and extinguished.
The fire-fighting deployment process is carried out synchronously, timely, effectively and ensures safety in all aspects. After the fire was extinguished, the local authorities arranged the police force and commune militia to continue on duty and guard to prevent the risk of the fire re-igniting.

On the evening of the same day, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Man, Head of the Loc Ha District Forest Protection Department, said that by nearly 17 pm on the same day, the functional forces and people had controlled and extinguished the forest fire. The burned forest area consists of regenerated acacia and eucalyptus trees planted about 2-3 years ago, and have been assigned to households and village communities for management.
On the morning of June 1, the district Forest Protection Department will continue to coordinate with the Loc Ha District Police, the Commune Police, the local authorities and the forest owner to inspect and inspect the scene, measure the area, calculate the damage level of different types of forests, and at the same time find out the cause of the fire.
