Chau Thanh district meets new rural standards

(KGO) - The Prime Minister signed Decision No. 1119/QD-TTg, dated June 11, 2025, on recognizing Chau Thanh district, Kien Giang province as meeting new rural standards in 2024.

Rural roads in Chau Thanh district are upgraded and expanded.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Kien Giang province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district to continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.

Up to now, Kien Giang has 9/15 districts and cities recognized as new rural areas, completing the task of building new rural areas, reaching 100% of the plan; 116/116 communes have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting new rural standards; 40/116 communes have been recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards, 5 communes have been recognized as model new rural areas.
