Hong Ngu District hands over 44 houses under the program to eliminate temporary housing.

The program to eliminate temporary housing is a humane initiative launched by Dong Thap province in June 2024. To effectively implement the program, localities are actively mobilizing all resources to quickly bring this initiative into practice.

In Hong Ngu district, statistics show that there are 280 households facing housing difficulties that need support, including 38 families with meritorious service to the revolution and 242 poor and near-poor households. To date, Hong Ngu district has started construction and renovation of 85 houses, of which 44 have been completed and handed over to the families.

During a visit to inspect the progress of housing construction under the program to eliminate temporary housing, Mr. Huynh Van Tai, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, directed the People's Committees of the communes to proactively coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the district and commune levels, continue to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, and mobilize resources to resolutely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and disadvantaged households, especially policy beneficiary families, so that each house built is of good quality, helping families have a place to settle down and make a living, and giving them more motivation to overcome difficulties and improve their lives.
