When will the iPhone 15 be released?
The iPhone 15 will be available for pre-order a week later and will officially go on sale on September 22, 2023. Some US carriers banned their employees from taking time off on September 13 to prepare for the “important smartphone announcement.”
Additionally, the company may introduce the Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, iOS 17, and other new operating systems.
The iPhone 15 is promised to deliver the biggest update in three years. Previous major improvements, such as the iPhone 6 (2014), iPhone X (2017), and iPhone 12 (2020), typically triggered large upgrade cycles thanks to new screens and designs.
Some upgrades on the iPhone 15
The Pro versions feature a new titanium body (replacing stainless steel) and thinner bezels. The iPhone 15 Pro Max may well have the thinnest bezels on the mobile market.
The Pro model boasts bezels that are one-third thinner than the iPhone 14, a lighter and more premium titanium frame compared to the current stainless steel, a better camera, a USB-C charging port, and a faster chip.
The manufacturer will replace the Ring/Silent Switch with a new "Action Button." Therefore, the new physical button is improved to offer more useful functions such as turning on the flashlight and opening the camera app.
The Pro models use a USB Type-C port instead of the Lightning port used previously. This allows devices to achieve faster data transfer and charging speeds. Standard versions will be limited to USB-C cable speeds of USB 2.0 (similar to Lightning).
The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus use the A16 Bionic chipset, while the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be based on the new A17 chip. On the Pro models, Apple will add a new periscope lens for improved optical zoom.
