Accordingly, average 5G download speeds increased by 23.7% for the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max across the three major US carriers. Verizon customers saw a significant improvement of 26.4%, followed by AT&T and T-Mobile.
Upload speeds also increased by an average of 22.1% across all three networks. Therefore, users can expect upload speeds exceeding 30Mbps.
The iPhone 16 Pro uses the more advanced A18 chip with more GPU cores, an upgraded cooling system, and Qualcomm's X75 modem, delivering several improvements beyond raw speeds. It also supports 5G Advanced technology, offering lower power consumption and improved 5G carrier aggregation for the aforementioned upload speeds.
The iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max feature larger OLED displays, measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches respectively. This makes them the iPhones with the largest screens in the company's history.
Reportedly, the duo features thin bezels, supports Promotion, Always-On Display, and Ceramic Shield glass. Apple states that it continues to use Grade 5 Titanium, which is more durable and scratch-resistant.
In terms of cameras, both models feature 48MP lenses with focal lengths ranging from 13mm to 120mm. The iPhone 16 Pro, in particular, boasts a 5x periscope lens, supporting telephoto zoom.
Apple will officially begin selling the iPhone 16 series on September 20th.
