With the camera's variable aperture feature, users can easily control the amount of light passing through the lens and reaching the sensor. This helps the iPhone take better photos in many complex lighting conditions.

At the same time, this feature also allows users to better control the depth of field, supporting the ability to take portrait photos. According to Kuo, the manufacturer BE Semiconductor from the Netherlands will provide the mechanical parts to produce this camera cluster.

In addition, the processor chip on the iPhone 18 Pro will be manufactured on TSMC's 2nm process. Meanwhile, the standard versions will still use 3nm chips. This upgrade helps the device increase efficiency in performance and energy management.
