International visitors to Da Nang and Quang Nam increased sharply

According to the Department of Statistics of Da Nang City, in the first 6 months of 2024, the number of international visitors to Da Nang achieved impressive growth and exceeded the same period in 2019 (before the Covid-19 epidemic).

Statistics show that the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated at 5.1 million, an increase of 25.6% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international guests reached 2.0 million, an increase of 40.3%; domestic guests reached 3.1 million, an increase of 17.7%.

The average number of overnight guests staying for 6 months is 1.38 days/visit, of which international guests stay 1.45 days/visit; domestic guests stay 1.31 days/visit.

The total number of tourists served by travel agencies in the first 6 months is estimated at 636 thousand arrivals, up 4.4% over the same period in 2023, of which international visitors reached 222 thousand arrivals, up 37.3%; domestic visitors reached 383 thousand arrivals, down 9.3%; Vietnamese tourists traveling abroad reached 31 thousand arrivals, up 24.8%.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam province, the total number of visitors and tourist accommodation in the past 6 months is estimated at 4,600,000, an increase of 18% over the same period in 2023. Of which, international visitors are estimated at 3,050,000, an increase of 27% over the same period in 2023; domestic visitors are estimated at 1,550,000, an increase of 4% over the same period in 2023. Tourism revenue in the first 6 months of 2024 is estimated at 3,870 billion VND, an increase of 11% over the same period in 2023. Social income from tourism is estimated at 9,095 billion VND.

The provincial tourism industry also organized a program to stimulate tourism attraction to Quang Nam in 2024 with the theme "Quang Nam - Green Heritage" and signed a cooperation agreement on tourism development - railway between the People's Committee of Quang Nam province and Vietnam Railways Corporation; Signed a cooperation agreement on tourism development between the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam with units and enterprises: Thien Minh Group (TMG); Nam Hoi An Development Company Limited; Heineken Vietnam Brewery Company Limited and signed a cooperation agreement between tourism enterprises participating in building tourism stimulus packages in 2024...
