Opening Ceremony of the Cap Tien Temple Festival in 2025

On February 3rd (the 6th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Snake), the opening ceremony of the 2025 Cap Tien Temple Festival took place at Cap Tien Temple in Dong Xa commune, Van Don district. The program was jointly organized by Van Don district and Cam Pha city.

The Temple of the Fairy Maiden, also known as the Temple of the Little Girl of Cua Suot, is said to be dedicated to the daughter of Hung Nhượng Vương Trần Quốc Tảng, a renowned general during the Trần dynasty. Legend says she fought alongside her father to defend the country and maintain peace in the Cua Suot region of northeastern Vietnam.

This is the second year that the Organizing Committee has included the reenactment of "The Little Girl of Cua Suot," linked to the legend of the Cap Tien Temple, in the opening ceremony of the festival. The opening ceremony aims to instill in all levels of society a sense of reverence and gratitude for the contributions of their ancestors and forefathers; and to strongly promote the cultural and historical value of the relics in implementing the Party, State, and Quang Ninh province's policies on building an advanced Vietnamese culture rich in national identity; building a culture and people with a strong Quang Ninh identity, contributing to creating endogenous resources and driving forces for sustainable development.
