Organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association , the forum continues the success of the National Press Forum 2025. The event took place over two days, June 19-20, with 11 working sessions, including the opening and closing ceremonies, and 9 discussion and panel discussions focusing on key, topical issues in Vietnamese journalism today.

This year's discussion sessions addressed many hot topics such as: promoting the role of the press in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; the press accompanying businesses in shaping the future; innovation to reach new readers and develop the press economy ; press copyright in the age of artificial intelligence (AI); promoting Vietnam's image on the digital press ecosystem; organizing the operations of press agencies; applying AI in newsrooms; policy communication supporting local development; and the strategic autonomy of press agencies in the digital age.
A new feature of the 2026 National Press Forum is the participation of key media organizations such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Television, and the Hai Phong City Journalists Association in several thematic sessions. The organizers expect this participation to bring diverse perspectives and practical stories about journalism and newsroom management in the context of strong digital transformation.

During the opening day, the Vietnam News Agency also launched its "Digital Movement" information portal, the first specialized journalistic product on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation. Built on a converged media model, the portal provides multi-dimensional, in-depth information on science and technology, AI, digital sovereignty, digital data, and new technological trends, aiming to become an open knowledge space connecting policymakers, scientists, technology businesses, and the public.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Director General of the Vietnam News Agency Vu Viet Trang affirmed that in the digital age, journalism continues to accompany the country's development with knowledge, science, and technology; and expressed hope that the "Digital Movement" special section will become a bridge between ideas and actions, between knowledge and practice, contributing to creating positive changes for the future.
The 2026 National Press Forum is expected to continue to be a space for connecting, sharing experiences, promoting innovation, digital transformation, and finding solutions to the challenges facing Vietnamese journalism in the new development phase.
