Opening of the "Workers' Market"

(CT) - On May 6th, the Trade Union of Can Tho Export Processing Zones and Industrial Parks (EPZs & IPs) organized the opening of the "Workers' Market" in response to the Workers' Month and the Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2025.

At the opening ceremony, the leaders of the Can Tho Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union called on all affiliated trade unions to actively coordinate and organize activities to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers; to promote the implementation of labor laws and regulations, and to promptly resolve issues related to workers' entitlements and policies; and to encourage excellent and innovative labor emulation. On this occasion, the Can Tho Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union awarded 20 scholarships to children of union members and workers in difficult circumstances, totaling nearly 15 million VND; and presented 200 gifts (each including 1 million VND in cash and essential goods) to workers in difficult circumstances. They also commended collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the excellent labor emulation movement and in building a strong trade union organization.

The "Workers' Market" will take place over 5 days (May 6-10, 2025) at the Can Tho Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union's courtyard. The market will feature 11 stalls selling essential products, goods, and services at discounted prices of 30-70% or more, and 2 stalls offering items for free. During the "Workers' Market," the Can Tho Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zones Trade Union will also organize many practical activities, such as training on occupational safety and hygiene; social insurance counseling; cultural exchanges; gift giving to workers in difficult circumstances; free haircuts; safe driving training, etc.
