On the afternoon of March 13th, the Institute of Non-Traditional Security (School of Management and Business, Vietnam National University, Hanoi ) held an announcement session for the recruitment of students for the Non-Traditional Security Assistant (NSA) training program in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the recruitment announcement, Major General, Professor-Doctor Nguyen Van Nhat - Director of the Center for Non-Traditional Security Training, Institute of Non-Traditional Security - expressed his expectation of 100 students per training course. Applications will begin on March 15th.
Major General, Professor-Doctor Nguyen Van Nhat provided information about the training course for Non-Traditional Security Assistants.
Major General Nguyen Van Nhat stated that non-traditional security refers to threats to national and human security that are not military in nature. Unlike traditional security, non-traditional security encompasses diverse challenges such as climate change, epidemics, transnational crime, and cybersecurity. These issues are often transnational in nature and require international cooperation to resolve.
"After years of research and experimentation, leading experts from Vietnam and the Institute of Non-Traditional Security have designed and implemented a training program for Non-Traditional Security Assistants, coordinating the curriculum with the Bachelor of Non-Traditional Security Management program at the School of Management and Business – Vietnam National University, Hanoi," Major General Nhat said.
Major General, Associate Professor, and Doctor Vu Duc Khien - Deputy Director of the Center for Non-Traditional Security Training, former Principal of the People's Police College II, Ministry of Public Security in Ho Chi Minh City - emphasized: "With the development of society, the issue of human resources is of great concern. Therefore, the establishment of the Non-Traditional Security Assistant program is very necessary."
The training content provides four groups of knowledge and skills, including: knowledge of national and international politics and law; knowledge of assistant and secretary roles for leaders, office work, and domestic help; health and security , armed protection, counter-terrorism, hostage prevention, and emergency response; and soft skills such as etiquette, protocol, foreign languages, information technology, motorcycle, car, and boat driving skills, martial arts, horseback riding, and the use of service dogs.
After a training period of 6-9 months, trainees will receive a "3-in-1" professional skills certificate covering security, secretary, and assistant roles, and will have the opportunity to work in government agencies, organizations, businesses, hospitals, etc.
The training course attracted a lot of interest.
Target applicants: Male and female high school graduates who are interested in non-traditional assistant roles; businesses and organizations in need of training. Priority will be given to those who have completed their military service. The first training course is scheduled to begin in May 2025.
Major General Vu Duc Khien stated that graduates who wish to further their education will be given priority in the selection process for the Bachelor of Non-Traditional Security Management program, organized and implemented by the Institute of Non-Traditional Security and the School of Management and Business, as per the approved project of Hanoi National University.
