TPO - Professional forces successfully subdued a buffalo that attacked people in Ea Roc commune (Dak Lak province), causing four injuries, using tranquilizer darts.

On June 3rd, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue, and Forest Management announced that it had successfully coordinated with the Regional Defense Command 3 in Ea Sup and other functional forces in Ea Roc commune to subdue a buffalo that had attacked local residents.

Earlier, on the morning of June 2nd, a buffalo suddenly exhibited unusual behavior. In a state of panic, the animal attacked several people, injuring four who required hospitalization and causing health problems for several others, disrupting the daily lives of residents in the area.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue, and Forest Management and Protection dispatched two officers and staff members who traveled over 40km to the scene.

After assessing the situation and ensuring safe conditions, officers from the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue, and Forest Management used a specialized tranquilizer gun to successfully subdue the buffalo. The animal was then safely transported and handed over to its owner.

According to the personnel involved, during the approach, the buffalo showed signs of panic and moved uncontrollably, making it difficult to subdue. Only after ensuring safe conditions were met was the team able to successfully sedate it.

Previously, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Elephant Conservation, Animal Rescue, and Forest Management had also participated in assisting with the handling of several cases of domesticated animals exhibiting unusual behavior in neighboring localities.
