In recent times, the Nghe An Museum has boldly incorporated technology into its exhibitions to attract and engage visitors. Previously, visitors were prohibited from touching artifacts at the Nghe An Museum. Now, they can physically touch artifacts and antiques, explore the scenic spots, history, and people of Nghe An through a 3D digital space, and discover the digitized historical data archive. This has helped the Nghe An Museum become increasingly popular, especially among young people.

The Nghe An Museum has attracted a large number of young people since launching its "Digital Space".

In the nearly 200 digital experience exhibition space on the second floor of the Nghe An Museum, Mr. Nguyen Huu Cong from Dien Chau district never imagined that there would be such a beautiful and interesting digital space right in the middle of Vinh city.

He shared that with just one touch, it felt like his hands were touching artifacts dating back thousands of years. The information and even the smallest carving details were clearly displayed, something he had previously only seen through glass cases when visiting museums.

Chỉ cần chạm tay vào màn hình có thể tìm kiếm thông tin về các hiện vật.
Simply by touching the screen, you can search for information about the artifacts.

This is the result of the digital experiential exhibition space with the theme "Nghe An: Land and People," invested in and built by the Nghe An Museum in a modern and dynamic direction; with content presented such as: Following the course of history, scenic spots, cultural heritage, cuisine, people - famous figures of Nghe An...

In this space, visitors will experience many modern digital technology applications. Through this, there will be many different ways to access information. This is one of the special projects in the Vietnamese museum system that tells its story through technology and modern equipment.

Visitors can explore the museum without traditional guides thanks to the application of AI technology.

At the "Following the Course of History" exhibition, thanks to the application of AI technology, there is no need for traditional tour guides. Visitors can simply swipe their fingers to view a vast amount of information on a large screen, documenting the development of Nghe An province from prehistoric times, linked to the nation's history of founding and defending the country, in the struggle to protect national independence and unify the country, to the period of reform. Despite the enormous amount of information, viewers can easily access it systematically without feeling bored or overwhelmed.

Interestingly, the application of AI technology in museum exhibits helps create personalized experiences for viewers. This AI system can generate customized audio or visual guides to help visitors better understand the exhibits. The application of AI technology can also replace a traditional tour guide in answering visitors' questions.

At the exhibition area showcasing historical landmarks, scenic spots, special national monuments, and famous cultural heritage of Nghe An, the digital map display offers the public a new experience and visual effect through mapping technology, search, and interactive touch functionality. Static images and everyday scenes come to life through lighting effects and animated images projected onto them.

This has created an attractive and novel experience, allowing visitors to connect in a unique way with the 3D digitized products. In addition, many other aspects of the "Land and People" theme, such as scenic spots; tangible and intangible cultural heritage; and Nghe An cuisine, are presented using Virtual Reality (VR) technology. This is a system that simulates 3D designs on a computer to create a "realistic" world.

To experience this activity, viewers need to wear VR glasses and interact with the virtual environment through positioning and motion control devices, creating a realistic and vivid sensation.

Ms. Dao Thi Thu Van, an employee of the Exhibition, Propaganda and Education Department of the Nghe An Museum, said: "The digitization and application of modern technology in heritage preservation are vividly recreated. With just a 'touch,' visitors can easily explore Nghe An right at the museum. The content recording the development of Nghe An from prehistoric times to the innovations of today is recreated like a slow-motion film, allowing viewers to easily absorb the information through vivid images, sounds, and clips..."

When visiting the Nghe An Museum, tourists cannot miss the third floor, which houses a digital experiential exhibition about Tham Om Cave. This is a typical archaeological site of the late Paleolithic period in Nghe An. The cave is located in the limestone mountain range of Thuan Chau commune, Quy Chau district. The cave dates back approximately 200,000 years. To innovate the exhibition and attract visitors, especially the younger generation, students,

The Nghe An Museum has invested in 3D mapping technology to tell the story of Tham Om Cave. Within the Tham Om Cave, technology experts have combined 3D and filmmaking techniques to create visual, lighting, and sound effects that stimulate all the viewer's senses. What makes 3D mapping special is its ability to present content through 3D effects, forming interactive image blocks in a three-dimensional space instead of just two dimensions as traditionally done. The story of Tham Om Cave will transport viewers into a mysterious, creative space, full of impressive and surprising elements. The story is led by the appearance of ancient Nghe An people from 200,000 years ago, carrying torches and entering the cave...

Tham Om Cave is always a popular attraction, especially for children and schoolchildren.

Here, we met Nguyen Uyen Nhi and her classmates from class 11D of Thai Lao High School (Hung Nguyen). Uyen Nhi said: "Coming here, we learned more about the development of ancient Vietnamese people in Nghe An, enjoyed experiencing 3D technology at the museum, and checked in at Tham Om Cave together... We had very interesting experiences at the Nghe An Museum. We will introduce many friends inside and outside the school to visit, explore, and experience the Nghe An Museum," Uyen Nhi shared.

Since its launch, the digital space at 7 Dao Tan Street – the address of the Nghe An Museum, located in the Vinh Citadel area – has gradually attracted a large number of locals and tourists, especially young people. "On many days, we welcome and serve groups of 300-400 visitors, including many students from schools in Nghe An," added Ms. Dao Thi Thu Van.

Currently, modernization through the application of digital technology in exhibitions and presentations is an inevitable trend for modern museums. Standardizing museum artifact data systems will enable museums to connect and share information conveniently and effectively.

The Nghe An Museum currently houses over 30,000 artifacts and documents, including three recognized as National Treasures. However, the number of artifacts on display and presented is still quite modest and has not yet reached a wide audience.

The inauguration and opening of Phase 1 of the "Digital Experience Space" is considered a significant milestone for the Nghe An Museum, aiming to meet the evolving needs and increasing demand for historical and cultural appreciation from the general public. In the coming period, the Nghe An Museum is submitting a proposal to the competent authorities for consideration and allocation of funds to continue investing in digital technology throughout the museum's exhibition system. This is essential to support and modernize the exhibition content, preserving and promoting its value on a digital platform, and making the Nghe An Museum a valuable and attractive destination in Vinh City in particular and Nghe An province in general, according to the Director of the Nghe An Museum.
