On the morning of February 8th, the "27 Flavors of Dien Bien Cuisine" food festival took place at the Muong Thanh tourist market in Dien Bien Phu ward, Dien Bien province.
Organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province, the festival aims to honor the traditional culinary values that have been nurtured through many generations of ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, telling a story that attracts tourists to explore and experience.

According to Mr. Tran Hai Ha, Acting Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien province, the traditional feast of the people of Dien Bien is not only for enjoyment, but also a symbol of togetherness, hospitality, and the aspiration for prosperity and peace.
27 dishes, representing 27 distinct flavors and reflecting the cultural diversity of the ethnic groups in Dien Bien province, showcase a unique culinary experience. Each dish tells a story, each flavor a slice of culture, preserving traditional identity while also presenting it through a modern aesthetic, catering to the evolving tastes of both domestic and international tourists.
The "27 Flavors of Dien Bien Cuisine" Food Festival features the participation of 20 typical restaurants, homestays, and food businesses in the province.
The highlight of the festival is the cooking demonstrations, food platter decoration, and culinary showcases presented by artisans, chefs, and food service businesses in the province. Through each stage of preparation, the cultural values of the ethnic groups of Dien Bien are vividly recreated, creating an attraction for the public and tourists.
Attending the festival, locals and tourists can witness firsthand how artisans and chefs infuse the simple ingredients of the Northwest mountains and forests—from rice grains, bamboo shoots, and stream fish—to the distinctive spices of the villages, creating dishes that are rich in the flavors of Dien Bien.

Every step and process in preparing dishes by Vietnam's top chefs not only demonstrates skill but also represents a continuation of folk knowledge, telling the story of the people of Dien Bien preserving their identity and introducing their homeland to friends and tourists from all over the world.
