In Binh Duong province, there is a magnificent irrigation project. Besides its irrigation function, the beautiful scenery here is chosen by many as a check-in point and an attractive tourist destination. This is the Phuoc Hoa irrigation dam, located in An Thai commune, Phu Giao district, Binh Duong province, and partly in Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province.
The Phuoc Hoa irrigation dam was started in August 2008 and inaugurated in November 2011. With a reservoir area of 2,077 hectares, the Phuoc Hoa irrigation dam is tasked with improving the environment and water quality in the downstream areas of the Saigon River and the Vam Co Dong River.

Visiting the Phuoc Hoa irrigation dam, we also encounter the lush greenery of flowers and fruits in the surrounding An Thai commune, Phu Giao district. The beautiful scenery at this irrigation dam has made it a popular tourist destination, attracting many visitors.
Besides the stunningly beautiful main dam, this project also features a canal stretching over 40 km down to Dau Tieng Lake, which is equally impressive. This canal winds and twists, with many bends and turns due to the terrain, before emptying into Dau Tieng Lake at a flow rate of approximately 50 m³ /second, creating the interconnected Dau Tieng - Phuoc Hoa irrigation system.
On this canal, there are two aqueducts that currently hold the record for the tallest aqueducts in Vietnam: the Cam Xe stream aqueduct (located in Minh Tan commune, Dau Tieng district). This aqueduct is 700 meters long, with a height of over 19 meters from the canal surface to the bridge deck, holding the national record for aqueduct height, and a water transfer rate of 55 cubic meters per second. The second aqueduct spans the Thon stream in Tan Long commune, Phu Giao district, with a height of 16 meters from the stream surface to the bridge.
Besides storing water for irrigation, the Phuoc Hoa irrigation dam will soon be expanded to include tourism development. Join us on a tour to admire the beauty of this dam through the "I Love Binh Duong " program produced by Binh Duong Newspaper. You will surely be amazed by the beauty of the dam and the pristine nature of this area…
