Pi Network price today, March 25, 2025
The price of Pi on the OKX exchange on March 25, 2025, is fluctuating between $0.911 and $1.01 (equivalent to VND 23,330 to VND 25,840). As of the time of writing, the price of Pi on OKX has dropped sharply by 6% compared to yesterday's price of VND 24,400.
This week, Pi Coin recorded a drop of up to 31%, leaving the investment community wondering whether this is just a normal correction or is being affected by other underlying factors. Previously, the cryptocurrency had remained stable around $1.50 for a long time, but has now fallen sharply to $0.86 before recovering slightly to $0.90.
Despite signs of recovery, Pi Coin is facing strong resistance at the $1 mark. Breaking through this level could pave the way for the price to reach $1.20. However, experts believe that only by surpassing $1.90 will Pi have a chance to return to the $3 price range.
The drop in Pi Coin is not an isolated phenomenon, as the global cryptocurrency market is under strong selling pressure. Major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum are also experiencing deep corrections due to the impact of high inflation, tight monetary policies, and prolonged global economic instability.
Beyond just pricing, Pi Network faces a new controversy regarding the centralization of its SuperNode system – nodes that play a crucial role in transaction validation and blockchain operation. During the testnet phase, only three SuperNodes were deployed, all operated by the Pi Core Team and located in Canada and Finland.
Although the number of nodes has now increased to 42, with three main nodes operational, details about them remain unclear. This raises doubts about whether the network is truly decentralized.
The Pi Core Team has announced that they have opened the SuperNode role to the Pioneer community, but the selection criteria have yet to be released. There is no public list, and no specific reports have been shared about the review process. Many Reddit users have asked, "What is a SuperNode?" but have only received vague answers.
Some Pioneers also shared that they had been running nodes for months without receiving rewards. This led them to question whether becoming a SuperNode was truly for the community or limited to a select group of technically skilled and resourceful individuals.
SuperNodes are a crucial component of the Pi Network ecosystem. However, the current implementation contradicts the decentralized principles the project once promised. To build trust, the Pi Core Team needs transparency regarding selection criteria, publicly disclosing the list of selected nodes, and establishing a clear reward mechanism. Only by doing so can Pi Network demonstrate its commitment to a fair and scalable ecosystem for all users.
