Inauguration of Suoi Suu Water Supply System Project and technical opening of Provincial Road 183 Upgrade Project

Practically celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) and the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, on the morning of August 29, the Provincial People's Committee held the Inauguration Ceremony of the Suoi Suu Water Supply System Project and Le Thong Technical Traffic Project for the Upgrading and Renovation of Provincial Road 183.

Suu Stream Water Supply System Project is one of the key agricultural and rural development projects, of strategic significance in implementing the socio -economic development and environmental protection tasks of the province in the period of 2021-2025. The total investment is 323 billion VND and is divided into 2 phases (2017-2022 and 2023-2025). The project invests in the construction of a system of dams, reservoirs, pumping stations, electrical infrastructure, water pipes from Suu Stream to the regulating lake in Phong Quang commune... with the capacity to supply 10,000 m3/day and night to the receiving lake of 65,000 m3 in the old Phong Quang commune for the ecological regulating lake and regulation, long-term, stable and sustainable water supply in the area and providing raw water for the domestic water system serving 40,000 people in the old Ha Giang city (now Ha Giang 1 ward and Ha Giang 2 ward).

The project to upgrade and renovate provincial road 183 has a total length of 36.5km, designed according to the standards of grade IV mountainous roads: Roadbed width 7.5m; asphalt road surface width 6.5m; sidewalks on each side 0.5m wide; high-grade A1 road surface, 7cm thick asphalt concrete on crushed stone aggregate base layers; drainage works along and across the route; construction of 7 new bridges, repair of 3 bridges and complete construction of auxiliary works, road signaling system. The total investment is nearly 300 billion VND. The project started at the end of June 2023 and has been completed 4 months ahead of schedule.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Provincial Road 183, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Manh Tuan affirmed that this is an extremely important event, not only a joy and pride for the Party Committee, government and people in the province, but also a milestone demonstrating the high determination in implementing the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress on developing transport infrastructure, an important driving force to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development. When put into operation, the project will shorten travel time, create favorable conditions for transporting goods, agricultural products, raw materials, help reduce production and business costs for enterprises; connect production areas, open up new opportunities to attract investment, create momentum for tourism development, expand urban development space, build new rural areas....

At the Inauguration Ceremony of the Suu Stream Water Supply System Project, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long acknowledged, highly appreciated and commended the investor and the construction unit for their efforts in organizing and implementing the project; the management staff, engineers and hundreds of workers of the contractors participating from design consultants to supervisors and construction workers, regardless of the sun or rain, worked tirelessly day and night on the construction site to complete the project ahead of schedule and meet the conditions for the inauguration right on the occasion when the whole country is looking forward to a very important event - the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Provincial leaders inspected the operation of the Suu stream water filtration and sedimentation system before sending it to the pressure tank to supply Ha Giang wards 1 and 2.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized: Suu Stream Water Supply System Project is an important project for the socio-economic development of the province and the people's lives, contributing to strengthening national defense and security in the border area. Therefore, although the province's resources are very difficult, the province has made efforts to arrange enough investment capital to complete the projects. He requested organizations and individuals to join hands to preserve and use the project for the right purpose, contributing to enhancing its value and maximizing investment efficiency.
