With the motto "No one is left behind", Thang Mo commune has effectively implemented the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

Implementing the project to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Thang Mo commune has reviewed and identified 211 poor and near-poor households and other subjects with housing difficulties to receive support, including 205 new houses and 6 houses repaired. Comrade Chang Thi My, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang Mo Commune, said: "Deeply aware of the humane significance and important role of the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have identified this as a key political task. Therefore, the commune has widely disseminated the content of the support policy to policy families, poor and near-poor households... At the same time, to keep up with the progress in accordance with the general policy of the province, the commune has proactively deployed the model of "Working Group in charge of households" consisting of 14 cadres, local unions and village heads to monitor and support each household throughout the construction process, from planning, technical supervision, progress to acceptance, the commune strives to complete before August 31".

In addition, members of the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province have had working sessions to check the progress in the assigned communes. Comrade Nguyen Hoang Long, Chairman of the Provincial Red Cross Society and member of the Steering Committee, said: “Support for housing construction not only contributes to improving the quality of people's lives but also demonstrates the deep political commitment of the Provincial Party Committee and Government to the poor, people in difficult circumstances, and ethnic minorities”.

Mr. Nu Mi Na's family in Sung Chang village is looking forward to the day their new house is completed. He shared: "My family is a poor household, so when we learned about the support to build a new house, my whole family and I were very excited. My family's new house is more than 60 square meters wide and costs nearly 150 million VND. Once I have a new house, I will try my best to escape poverty."

Unable to hide her joy at having a new, spacious house, Ms. Giang Mi Cho, Sung Thai village, emotionally shared: “Before, my family only wished for a place to sleep that was not wet by rain or wind every night. Fortunately, thanks to the project to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, my family received support from the Party, the State, and local authorities to build a new house. After more than 3 months of construction, the new house was completed and put into use with an area of ​​over 70 square meters, worth nearly 100 million VND.”

Up to now, Thang Mo commune has completed 211 new and repaired houses, with a budget of over 9 billion VND.
