Accordingly, In the first 8 months of 2025, international visitors to the city named after Uncle Ho reached nearly 5.2 million , an increase of nearly 50% over the same period in 2024 (8 months of 2024 was 3,444,532).
Meanwhile, the total number of domestic tourists to Ho Chi Minh City in the first 8 months of 2025 is estimated to reach more than 25 million, an increase of 7.5% over the same period in 2024.
Total tourism revenue in the first 8 months of 2025 is estimated at VND 161,887 billion, an increase of 31.2% over the same period in 2024 (VND 123,381 billion in the first 8 months of 2024). This figure is 62.3% of the 2025 plan; compared to the target of 55.8% in 2025.
Previously, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City's economy continued to maintain strong growth momentum in the first 7 months of 2025. In particular, the tourism industry emerged as a bright spot, contributing positively to the city's overall development picture.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has 7,211 tourism service businesses. Of which, 1,815 are travel agencies and 5,396 accommodation establishments with 92,468 rooms and 9,540 tour guides.
