New face Phan Du Hoc joins Vietnam national team to replace Doan Ngoc Tan

Coach Kim Sang Sik called up player Phan Du Hoc to the Vietnam national team to replace the unfortunately injured Doan Ngoc Tan.

On the afternoon of August 29, Phan Du Hoc was present at Top Hotel (My Dinh, Hanoi ) to join the Vietnam national team. Du Hoc said that he had just received information from Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club about being urgently assigned to the national team, after the match against Cong An TP.HCM in round 3 of V-League 2025 - 2026 on August 28.

The list of players gathered tonight for the Vietnamese team includes all the players from Hanoi Club, Hanoi Police, Ninh Binh, Nam Dinh , Ho Chi Minh City Police and Hoang Anh Gia Lai. The group of players from The Cong - Viettel and Becamex Ho Chi Minh City will join the team after August 30 because they are busy playing the late match of round 3 of V-League.

Phan Du Hoc, born in 2001, 1m73 tall, is a player on the payroll of Hoang Anh Gia Lai , playing in the V-League from the 2023 - 2024 season. He plays in his best position as a full-back, and has had two assists in the highest professional playground in Vietnam.

Because Doan Ngoc Tan was seriously injured and could not recover in time, coach Kim Sang Sik wanted to take this opportunity to test Phan Du Hoc.

The Vietnam team will be led by acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh to play two friendly matches against Hanoi Police Club and Nam Dinh.

Also in the afternoon of the same day, U23 Vietnam gathered in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) with full force except for the group of players from The Cong - Viettel.

Vietnam U23 under the leadership of coach Kim Sang Sik will prepare for three qualifying matches for the 2026 AFC U23 Championship taking place from September 3.

From tomorrow, August 30, the two teams will begin training.
