Alexander-Arnold dropped from England squad

Coach Thomas Tuchel has left Trent Alexander-Arnold out of the England squad for next month's 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Alexander-Arnold continues to be removed from the national team by coach Tuchel.

Trent moved to Real Madrid for €10 million this summer in the hope of taking the next step in his career. However, the player was surprisingly left out of the "Three Lions" squad to face Andorra and Serbia. In June, he was called up for the wins over Andorra and Senegal.

But in reality, Trent was only on the bench in the above matches, when coach Tuchel preferred to use Curtis Jones and Kyle Walker at right-back. The former Liverpool star was deployed in the midfield role by coach Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024 due to his limited defensive ability.

At Real Madrid, Trent is going through a difficult period when competing with Dani Carvajal. Coach Xabi Alonso refused to confirm whether Trent or Carvajal will be the number one choice for the right-back position this season.

While Trent was ruled out due to technical issues, the talented attacking duo of the "Three Lions" including Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Chelsea's Cole Palmer were absent due to injury.

Marcus Rashford, John Stones and Adam Wharton were recalled, while Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and Tottenham defender Djed Spence were called up for the first time.

England are currently top of Group K of the European qualifiers with three wins against Albania, Latvia and Andorra in their first three matches under coach Tuchel.
