Organizing 25 competitions at the 11th Capital Sports Festival

The press conference was held by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports on the afternoon of November 5. Chairing the press conference, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Pham Xuan Tai said that the 11th Capital Sports Festival in 2025 is expected to take place in 42 days (from November 4 to December 15) with 25 competitions in 12 communes, wards and 4 facilities managed by the Department of Culture and Sports.

The congress had the participation of more than 1,000 international and national referees to ensure the highest level of fairness and professionalism for the competitions. The opening ceremony was held at the Hanoi Athletics Palace and the closing ceremony was held at the Cultural House - Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.

The Games will be held at two levels. The grassroots level (commune, ward) will organize at least 8 sports, focusing on sports that are popular with the people. The city level will take place in November and December 2025, including 25 sports.

Compared to the 10th Congress in 2022, this year's Congress has increased the number of events from 22 to 25; The number of participating athletes has increased by about 15%; Professional quality has been improved, the organization is more methodical and professional; Many localities have proactively applied information technology in management, scoring and communication.

Propaganda and visual agitation work, television through electronic news sites and Youtube channels of units were promoted, creating an exciting atmosphere spreading throughout districts, towns and cities.

The 11th Capital Sports Congress - 2025 is a key activity to promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and promote the movement "Sports for everyone", thereby discovering and nurturing sports talents; Consolidating the organizational system, improving the capacity of staff, coaches, referees, well preparing a force of excellent athletes to participate in the 10th National Sports Congress in 2026 to achieve the best results.

Deputy Director Pham Xuan Tai also said that any Sports Festival aims for two purposes. The first is to create momentum, spread the spirit of sports training, improve community health so that everyone, every family can practice sports. From that positive atmosphere, each person will choose at least one sport to practice health, contributing to the development of the grassroots sports movement.

From the grassroots level Sports Festival, professional agencies will select outstanding athletes to train and develop for high-performance sports. The 11th Hanoi Sports Festival also aims at that common goal. From the Festival, the Capital's sports will continue to select talents to prepare for the 10th National Sports Festival, held in Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2026.

"The goal of Hanoi sports is to protect the overall lead," the Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports emphasized. In the history of organizing the National Sports Festival, up to now, Hanoi is also the locality leading the gold medal table with the feat of leading the overall team 6 times after 9 Games were held.
