On the afternoon of November 5th in Hanoi, a press conference was held to announce the commencement of the 11th Hanoi City Sports Festival in 2025. The festival, organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, aims to celebrate the successful conclusion of Party congresses at all levels and the 18th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee.
The Capital City Sports Festival is also a key activity aimed at promoting the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh," the "National Movement for Unity in Building a Culturally Rich Life," and the "Sports for All" movement, thereby discovering and nurturing sports talents and preparing a force for the 2026 National Sports Festival.
The 2025 Hanoi Capital Sports Festival is expected to take place over 42 days, from November 4th to December 15th. The 25 sporting events will be held in 12 communes and wards, and 4 facilities managed by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.
The Games will feature over 1,000 international and national-level referees. The opening ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Athletics Stadium. The closing ceremony will take place at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.
At the grassroots level (commune, ward), the大会 will organize at least 8 competitive sports including athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis...
At the city level, the大会 (congress/games) will feature 25 specific sports, including martial arts, tennis, billiards & snooker, chess, esports, tug-of-war, and more.
Compared to the 10th Hanoi Sports Festival (2022), this year's festival saw an increase in the number of competitive events and the number of participating athletes, thereby affirming Hanoi's leading position nationwide in the mass sports movement and high-performance sports.
