Kick-off of the 2025 Capital Sports Festival

The 11th Capital Sports Festival in 2025 will take place from November to December with 25 competitions at two levels, including city level and commune and ward level.

On the afternoon of November 5, a press conference was held in Hanoi to announce the opening of the 11th Capital Sports Festival in 2025. The festival was organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to celebrate the success of Party congresses at all levels and the 18th Hanoi City Party Congress.

The capital's sports festival is also a key activity to promote the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho", the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" and promote the movement "Sports for everyone", thereby discovering and nurturing sports talents, preparing forces for the 2026 National Sports Festival.

The 2025 Hanoi Sports Festival is scheduled to take place over 42 days, from November 4 to December 15. The 25 events will take place in 12 communes, wards and 4 facilities managed by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports.

The Games will be attended by more than 1,000 international and national referees. The opening ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Athletics Palace. The closing ceremony will be held at the Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center.

At the grassroots level (commune, ward), the congress will organize at least 8 competitions including athletics, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis...

At the city level, the congress organizes 25 specific sports, including martial arts, tennis, billiards & snooker, chess, e-sports, tug of war...

Compared to the 10th Capital Sports Festival (2022), this year's festival has seen an increase in the number of competitions and the number of participating athletes, thereby affirming Hanoi's leading position in the country in the sports movement for everyone and high-performance sports.
