Inauguration of CT Innovation Hub

The most unique and different point of CT Innovation Hub is that this center does not simulate theory or demonstrate imported technology, but directly displays and operates a complete 4.0 core technology ecosystem owned by Vietnamese people.

On April 29, CT Group held the inauguration ceremony of CT Innovation Hub at 20 Truong Dinh, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (near Independence Palace). The event marked a bold step forward in the field of innovation, breaking traditional models.

The difference compared to traditional centers is that this Innovation Center model must gather the strong creativity of 4.0 talents, connect Vietnamese and international resources and activate the innovation ecosystem on a high-tech platform. Speaking at the opening of the event, Mr. Tran Kim Chung - Chairman of CT Group Corporation shared: "We are working with the Alliance of 4.0 Generation Innovation Centers, determined to activate the innovation movement among young people - those who will lead Vietnam in the future. Innovation is not just a slogan but must be realized by practical, specific and effective actions".

Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, spoke at the event.

“We wish to join hands with the Government, agencies, departments, business community and intellectuals at home and abroad to build a strong innovation ecosystem, contributing to sustainable socio-economic development. Therefore, today we establish CT Innovation Hub with the desire to create an environment that stimulates the 4.0 generation to constantly innovate, create and contribute,” Mr. Tran Kim Chung emphasized.

The current context shows that although Vietnam has risen to 44th place out of 133 global economies according to the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024, up 4 places compared to 2023, innovation activities still face many challenges.

First, as of March 2025, Vietnam has a few unicorns. Compared to Israel, which has about 60 unicorns a year, this number is still very modest.

Second, Vietnamese startups have a high failure rate, while Vietnamese people are good at studying and creative. According to research by the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Applied Science and Technology, more than 90% of startups in Vietnam fail in their first years and 95-97% of businesses cannot survive after 5 years of operation.

Third, the performance of innovation centers is not really outstanding. According to Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, there are currently about 20 centers at all levels (national, regional, industry, local). However, the assessment of the real impact of these centers on the economy still needs improvement.

Fourth, Vietnam has won 271 medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad over the past 50 years. Although the number of academic research published internationally has increased, the number of inventions and successful commercialization of products remains limited.

Fifth, students from specialized schools such as Amsterdam Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City High School for the Gifted, etc. and other specialized schools tend to study abroad. According to statistics from the Department of International Cooperation, in 2022, there were more than 8,850 international students, but only about 1,160 returned (about 13.1%); in 2023, the number of returnees was even lower. According to many sources, up to 70-80% of international students choose to stay abroad. As a result, many talented Vietnamese are contributing to innovation in other countries, while their direct contributions to Vietnam remain modest.

The birth of CT Innovation Hub has a meaning that goes beyond a business event that directly implements Resolution 57 of the Politburo on the national innovation strategy, but also solves a difficult problem for Innovation Centers in Vietnam.

CT Innovation Hub is a place to nurture and promote 9 new technology industries, all of which are priority areas according to Resolution 57 such as: Semiconductors; Artificial Intelligence; Drones; Green Cryptocurrency; Carbon Credit Exchange; Zero-Emission Folding Houses; Electric Cars - Electric Trains, Quantum Computers; New Energy; Genes and Cells... These are all important areas, decisive to the development of the digital economy and science and technology.

The most unique and different point of CT Innovation Hub is that this center does not simulate theory or demonstrate imported technology, but directly displays and operates a complete 4.0 core technology ecosystem owned by Vietnamese people. Here, people can witness with their own eyes unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), self-developed AI products, semiconductor factory models, 4.0 folding houses, ESG technologies serving sustainable economy, or breakthrough research in the field of gene and cell technology...

The emergence of CT Innovation Hub is expected to lay the foundation for creating a wave of practical innovation, 4.0-style innovation among young people, attracting global Vietnamese talents to return and contribute. With CT Innovation Hub, innovation is being separated, differentiated and effective.

CT Innovation Hub, together with the Innovation Hub Alliance (IHA), connects more than 60 domestic innovation centers and more than 100 international innovation centers. This network not only helps transfer technology but also expands the flow of knowledge and resource sharing between Vietnam and the world.
