The most unique and distinctive feature of CT Innovation Hub is that it doesn't simulate theory or demonstrate imported technologies, but directly showcases and operates a complete core Industry 4.0 technology ecosystem owned and developed by Vietnamese people.

On April 29th, CT Group Corporation inaugurated the CT Innovation Hub at 20 Truong Dinh Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City (near the Independence Palace). This event marks a bold transformation in the field of innovation, breaking away from traditional models.

The key difference from traditional centers is that this Innovation Center model must harness the powerful creativity of 4.0 generation talent, connect Vietnamese and international resources, and activate an innovation ecosystem based on high technology. In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, shared: "Together with the Alliance of 4.0 Generation Innovation Centers, we are determined to activate the innovation movement among young people – those who will lead Vietnam in the future. Innovation is not just a slogan; it must be realized through practical, concrete, and effective actions."

Mr. Tran Kim Chung, Chairman of CT Group, delivered a speech at the event.

“We aspire to join hands with the Government, agencies, departments, the business community, and intellectuals both domestically and internationally to build a strong innovation ecosystem, contributing to sustainable socio -economic development. Therefore, today we are establishing CT Innovation Hub with the desire to create an environment that stimulates the 4.0 generation to constantly innovate, create, and contribute,” Mr. Tran Kim Chung emphasized.

The current context shows that, although Vietnam has risen to 44th place out of 133 global economies according to the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2024, an increase of 4 places compared to 2023, innovation activities still face many challenges.

First, as of March 2025, Vietnam has only a few unicorns. Compared to Israel, which has around 60 unicorns each year, this number is still very modest.

Secondly, Vietnamese startups have a high failure rate, despite the inherent qualities of Vietnamese people: academically gifted and creative. According to research by the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Application of Advanced Science and Technology , over 90% of startups in Vietnam fail within their first few years, and 95-97% of businesses cannot survive after 5 years of operation.

Thirdly, the effectiveness of innovation centers has not been truly outstanding. According to Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, there are currently about 20 centers at various levels (national, regional, sectoral, and local). However, the assessment of the actual impact of these centers on the economy still needs improvement.

Fourth, Vietnam has won 271 medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad over the past 50 years. Although the number of internationally published academic research papers has increased significantly, the number of successful inventions and commercialized products remains limited.

Fifth, students from specialized schools such as Amsterdam High School in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City High School for the Gifted, and other specialized schools tend to study abroad. According to statistics from the Department of International Cooperation, in 2022, there were over 8,850 students studying abroad, but only about 1,160 returned (approximately 13.1%); in 2023, the number returning was even lower. According to various sources, up to 70-80% of students choose to stay overseas. As a result, many talented Vietnamese are contributing to innovation in other countries, while their direct contributions to Vietnam remain modest.

The establishment of the CT Innovation Hub goes far beyond a business event; it directly implements Resolution 57 of the Politburo on the national innovation strategy, and also solves a difficult problem for Innovation Centers in Vietnam.

CT Innovation Hub is a place that nurtures and promotes nine new technology sectors, all of which are priority areas according to Resolution 57, such as: Semiconductors; Artificial Intelligence; Drones; Green Currency; Carbon Credit Exchange; Zero-Emission Buildings; Electric Cars - Electric Trains; Quantum Computing; New Energy; Genes and Cells… These are all crucial areas that are decisive to the development of the digital economy and science and technology.

The most unique and distinctive feature of CT Innovation Hub is that it doesn't simulate theory or demonstrate imported technologies, but directly showcases and operates a complete core Industry 4.0 technology ecosystem owned and developed by Vietnamese people. Here, visitors can see firsthand models of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), self-developed AI products, semiconductor factory models, Industry 4.0 stacking houses, ESG technologies serving sustainable economics, or groundbreaking research in the fields of gene and cell technology…

The emergence of CT Innovation Hub is expected to lay the foundation for creating a wave of practical innovation, innovation in the style of Industry 4.0 among young people, and attracting global Vietnamese talent to return and contribute. With CT Innovation Hub, innovation is being separated, differentiated, and made more effective.

CT Innovation Hub, together with the Innovation Hub Alliance (IHA), connects more than 60 domestic innovation centers and over 100 international innovation centers. This network not only facilitates technology transfer but also expands the flow of knowledge and resource sharing between Vietnam and the international community.
