Filmed in the Imperial Citadel, after nearly a week since its release, critics believe that what makes "The Poet Prince" so impressive is its beautiful cinematography. The Imperial Citadel, with its Ngo Mon Gate, courtyard, corridors, traditional ao dai dresses, and moon lute, combined with Mono's influence, has spread the image of heritage to the public, especially young people.
While not comparable to the "Bac Bling" craze (by Hoa Minzy, Tuan Cry, and Xuan Hinh), promoting the image and attracting tourism through music videos is clearly becoming a trend. And with Mono's event, Hue is also experimenting with a new direction: "rejuvenating" its approach to heritage. Even more surprisingly, at the launch event of "Cong Tu Van Tho," singer Mono was officially invited to become Hue's "Heritage Ambassador."
The event surprised many because Mono's image was so youthful and fresh, contrasting sharply with the traditional values of Hue's ancient citadels and temples. How Mono will spread her personal image and the image of Hue's heritage in her role as "Hue's Heritage Ambassador" remains an unknown, but clearly, with her bold "breaking the mold" in Hue's thinking, Mono's event has sent a message: bridging generations in the preservation and promotion of heritage values.
Mono's visit to Hue is part of the "Hue International Music Week" program, held on an outdoor stage by the Perfume River. Bringing together young talents in contemporary and traditional music from Vietnam, Korea, France , and other countries, the organizers hope that the "Hue International Music Week" will bring a fresh highlight to the Hue Festival 2026 through a renewed approach to the festival.
Attending the music program "25 Years Remembering Trinh Cong Son," which opened the Hue International Music Week, thousands of viewers also felt a new vitality being breathed into Trinh Cong Son's music.
In the breezy setting of the Perfume River, on a stage where the audience sits on the grass, immersed in nature, flashing their lights to listen to "Pink Rain" in Ha Le's rap style. Perhaps, for those who loved Trinh Cong Son's music, with the image of Khanh Ly and her ao dai "imprinted" on stage, deeply ingrained in the emotions of a generation, the modernization of Trinh Cong Son's music sometimes raised anxieties and doubts. But with the unconventional approach of Tan Son, the youthful and sweet charm of Bui Lan Huong..., the melancholic songs of composer Trinh Cong Son were received as new versions, set against the backdrop of ancient temples reflecting on the Perfume River.
Just like Trinh Cong Son's music, Hue's heritage needs to "open its doors" to the world through the bridge of young people, and Mono's visit to Hue is a message in that regard. But from that initial step, a strategy and a roadmap must be established to ensure that the heritage maintains a balance between the ancient and the contemporary, between preservation and development... during the generational transition, when the mission of preserving the heritage will inevitably shift to the shoulders of the younger generation.
