Groundbreaking ceremony for the My Tho communal house restoration project

DTO - Cao Lanh District People's Committee has just held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project to restore My Tho communal house. Attending the ceremony were comrades: Tran Van Cuong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Organization Committee; Doan Quoc Cuong - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Van Duong - former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Thanh Hung - former Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Tan Phuoc - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the District People's Committee; Truong Vinh Thien - Vice Chairman of the District People's Council; leaders of departments, branches, district organizations, retired cadres and a large number of people.

Groundbreaking Ceremony of My Tho Communal House Restoration Project

In 2014, My Tho town was recognized as a type IV urban area, marking a new step in infrastructure and urban development. On April 29, 2021, Cao Lanh district was honored to receive the title "Labor Hero of the Renewal Period"; The Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee awarded the district 5 billion VND to invest in a typical cultural project. After consulting the people, the District People's Committee decided to choose the project of Restoring My Tho communal house - a cultural relic with unique architectural and artistic values, long associated with the spiritual life of the community.

The project is implemented under the Project to promote the value of communal houses in Dong Thap province, period 2021-2025 according to Decision No. 453/QD-UBND-HC of the Provincial People's Committee issued on April 14, 2021, with the goal of preserving the cultural space typical of the South, creating conditions for people to access and preserve the cultural heritage left by their ancestors; promoting the functions of folk beliefs, administration and cultural activities of communal houses... The project is invested with state budget capital with a total cost of more than 11 billion VND, including main items such as: restoration of the main hall, the shell, main gate, side gate, fence, yard, road, trees...; implemented in the period 2025 - 2027.

After completion, the project will be a spacious and solemn community living space with unique architecture and art imbued with the cultural identity of the South, focusing on folk religious activities, creating a close relationship between the government, religious establishments and the people in effectively implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; a connecting point in the province's cultural and spiritual tourism chain, contributing to the effective implementation of the Tourism Development Project and building the local image, promoting the socio -economic development of the province, as well as of My Tho commune.
