Awakening the spirit of creative work

Lao Cai is entering a new stage of development, requiring each cadre and worker to further promote the spirit of innovation, creativity, daring to think and daring to do.

Having been involved ineducation for many years, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diu, lecturer at the Faculty of Electricity and Electronics, Lao Cai College, has always thought and worried about innovating methods, improving teaching efficiency, contributing to training qualified human resources, serving the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country and the province. For that reason, in 2023, she started researching and implementing the initiative "Practical model of monitoring and controlling motors using PLC combined with HMI". After a period of construction and testing, the new model was officially completed.

Master Nguyen Thi Diu enthusiastically shared about her passionate model: The essence of this initiative is to create a multi-functional practice model, using removable modular blocks that can be removed when necessary, meeting the diversity of knowledge volume and flexibility in operation. The model helps teachers easily observe and check when students practice; at the same time, it is safe to use, less likely to break, facilitating the transmission of knowledge by lecturers and helping learners quickly absorb. From an economic perspective, thanks to the integration of many other models, the model contributes to saving from 40 to 50 million VND in costs. The model won Third Prize, Provincial Science and Technology Competition in 2023.

It is known that in 2022, Ms. Diu won the Encouragement Prize in the National DIY Training Equipment Competition organized by the General Department of Vocational Education. In recognition of her efforts, in 2023, Ms. Nguyen Thi Diu was honored to receive the Creative Labor Certificate from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.

Working in the field of education and training requires us to constantly update and innovate our methods and ways of working, and promote the application of 4.0 technology in teaching. The emulation movement "Good worker, creative worker" has opened up opportunities for me to try my hand, fueling my passion in the process of learning and researching effective and highly applicable topics, helping students become more interested in the learning process.

It is known that he is the author of the method of using VAC negative pressure suction bandage - a system that promotes wound healing, operating on the principle of negative pressure applied to the wound, helping to improve the environment for the patient's wound healing process. This method has the advantage of being simple, easy to perform, does not require additional equipment and especially shortens treatment time, saving costs for patients; can be widely applied in hospitals equipped with central suction ports and conventional suction machines.

In recent years, the emulation movement "Good workers, creative workers", focusing on promoting initiatives and technical improvements in the work and production activities of agencies and units, has spread widely, attracting workers, civil servants and employees in the province to participate. The movement has aroused the passion for research and creativity of union members and employees in many fields with useful initiatives and solutions closely linked to practical work and production, bringing practical results to agencies, units and enterprises, contributing to the overall development of the province.

In the period 2020 - 2025, 271 topics and initiatives were recognized at the provincial level; over 17,200 topics and initiatives were effectively applied from the grassroots level into practice, with a total value of over 51 billion VND.

In recognition of the efforts of collectives and individuals in implementing the emulation movement "Excellent workers, creative workers", over the past 5 years, 36 individuals have been awarded the Certificate of Creative Labor by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; in 2024 alone, 11 individuals from Lao Cai province were honored.
