After four years of organization, the Quang Nam Creative Startup Festival - TechFest Quang Nam has become the biggest and most anticipated event of the year for the startup community.
With each passing year, TechFest Quang Nam has been upgraded in both scale and organization. Notably, in addition to forums and seminars, the business networking activities have increasingly attracted a large number of booths showcasing and introducing products from within and outside the province.
Similar to 2023, TechFest Quang Nam attracted approximately 300 exhibition booths, showcasing nearly 1,000 innovative ideas and products, OCOP products, and typical rural industrial products from both within and outside the province.
In addition, there will be large-scale and in-depth workshops, forums, and conferences on the components of the startup ecosystem, with the participation of many central and provincial startup support organizations nationwide, as well as leading international and Vietnamese startup experts, mentors, and lecturers.
Leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology believe that each TechFest event opens up many new opportunities, bringing resources closer together. This helps build an increasingly developed ecosystem, creating a foundation for our innovative startups to take off and expand.
This year, according to the original plan, Quang Nam province was to organize the 5th Quang Nam Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week - TechFest Quang Nam 2024 over 6 days (from May 14-18). However, on May 7, the Provincial People's Committee issued a document adjusting the event schedule.
Accordingly, the events and activities of TechFest Quang Nam will take place in May and June. Specifically, the kick-off activities for TechFest Quang Nam 2024 will take place from May 15-17 with a series of forums, workshops, and seminars.
Meanwhile, the TechFest Quang Nam 2024 trade and investment promotion event will take place from June 5-9 with 330 exhibition booths at 24/3 Square (Tam Ky City). The Quang Nam 2024 Entrepreneurship Talent Award Ceremony will also be held during this period.
According to the Provincial People's Committee, the adjustment of the schedule as above aims to align with the work programs of central agencies, international organizations, and the agricultural extension community, as well as to ensure the safety of outdoor activities in accordance with the recommendations of the meteorological and hydrological agency.
What does the warm-up activity series include?
This morning, May 15th, a series of activities kicked off TechFest Quang Nam 2024 in Tam Ky City. The event began with an international scientific conference on the theme "Developing student entrepreneurship ideas, connecting with businesses, and orienting the training of high-quality human resources domestically and internationally" at Quang Nam College.
Associate Professor Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Anh - Principal of Quang Nam College, said that to prepare for the conference, the school had issued a plan to units and individuals inside and outside the school. This attracted a large number of staff, employees, experts, scientists, and managers from both within and outside the country to participate in writing papers.
The editorial board received over 120 papers. After peer review, the editorial board selected papers for inclusion in the proceedings. Many papers were of high quality, including those presented by representatives from foreign universities and businesses.
"With the rich content of the presentations, the international scientific conference will provide correct guidance in developing entrepreneurial ideas for students; connecting with businesses, and orienting the training of high-quality human resources domestically and internationally for educational institutions in our country today," shared Ms. Vu Thi Phuong Anh.
On the same day, in the afternoon of May 15th, a forum titled "Connecting Investment and E-commerce on Digital Platforms for Startup Businesses" was held at the Muong Thanh Hotel (Tam Ky City). The forum was chaired by the Department of Planning and Investment, in coordination with the Center for Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment), and the Provincial Startup Support Steering Committee.
Believing that the forum will bring many values to businesses, especially business skills on e-commerce platforms, Ms. Truong Thi Yen Ngoc - Director of the Quang Nam Investment Promotion and Startup Support Center (Department of Planning and Investment) hopes that startup businesses and OCOP entities in the province will actively welcome, attend, and participate in the exchange and implementation.
"This forum will help businesses improve their capacity to connect with investors, engage in e-commerce, access and promote products on digital platforms, and apply technological solutions to enhance the efficiency of production and business operations," Ms. Ngoc shared.
On the morning of May 16th, the National Association of Traditional Medicine and Aesthetics will collaborate with the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee to organize the 2nd National Congress of the Medicinal Herbs and Aesthetics Industry - Quang Nam 2024 at Phu Long Hotel.
On the final day of the TechFest Quang Nam kick-off activities, the Quang Nam Young Entrepreneurs Club hosted a forum on the theme "New Leadership Thinking".
Regarding information about this forum, Mr. Phan Ngoc Minh - Chairman of the Quang Nam Young Entrepreneurs Club - said that the forum's theme emphasizes the issue of changing mindsets to update knowledge and new trends so that businesses can keep up with the general development of the times.
In addition to the activities mentioned above, the National Innovation Forum with the theme "Enhancing the Professionalism of Journalism and Media in National Innovation Efforts" will be held at the Quang Nam Newspaper Hall at 2 PM on May 15th.
At the Ban Thach Hotel, the Provincial Farmers' Association organized a forum titled "Outstanding Farmers in Production and Business in Quang Nam Participate in Digital Transformation in Production and Product Consumption" at 2 PM on May 17th.
