Foreign investors reversed to net buying, VN-Index surpassed 1,265 points.

NDO - On January 24th, the final trading day of the Year of the Dragon, the market saw sluggish trading in the morning due to the mixed performance of most stock sectors, with mostly minor fluctuations. In the afternoon, increased buying pressure, particularly in key sectors such as banking, securities, and real estate, along with large-cap stocks like MSN, GAS, and GVR, helped the main indices reverse course and break through. At the close of trading, the VN-Index rose 5.42 points to 1,265.05 points.


On the HoSE exchange, the trading value in this session decreased slightly compared to the previous session, reaching over 11,104.17 billion VND.

Foreign investors reversed their position to net buying of approximately 632 billion VND on the HoSE exchange. In terms of buying activity, LPB shares were the most heavily bought, with a value exceeding 236 billion VND, followed by MSN (144 billion VND), PC1 (71 billion VND), etc. Conversely,FPT was the most heavily sold (177 billion VND), followed by FRT (55 billion VND), VRE (38 billion VND), etc.

Today's session saw VN30 stocks close with 20 gainers, 5 unchanged, and 5 losers.

Specifically, MSN rose 3.98% to VND 68,000 per share, BCM increased 1.91%, MWG gained 1.52%, GAS rose 1.34%, GVR increased 1.23%, and HDB rose 1.12%.

The following stocks saw slight increases: ACB, BID, BVH, MBB, POW,SHB , SSI, TCB, TPB, VCB, VIB, VJC, VNM, VRE.

Five stocks remained at their reference prices, including: SSB, STB, VHM, VIC, and VPB.

Conversely, the following stocks saw slight declines: CTG, FPT, HPG, PLX, and SAB.

In terms of sectors, steel stocks traded mixed, with VCA rising 1.31%, DTL rising 1.05%, HSG showing a slight increase, and POM and TLH remaining unchanged, while SMC fell 3.23%, NKG fell 1.48%, and HMC and HPG both experienced slight declines.

Securities stocks were mostly in the red in the morning session but rallied in the afternoon and closed slightly higher. Besides SSI mentioned above, VIX rose 3.24%, DSE 1.73%, BSI 1.64%, APG, TVB, and VDS saw slight gains, while TCI, TVS, and VND remained unchanged. Conversely, ORS fell 1.75%, and AGR, CTS, FTS, HCM, and VCI experienced slight declines.

Similarly, the banking sector stocks closed up 0.43%. Besides the VN30 group stocksACB , BID, CTG, HDB, MBB, SHB, SSB, STB, TCB, TPB, VCB, VPB, and VIB mentioned above, other stocks such as EIB increased 1.09%, LPB increased 1.56%, MSB saw a slight increase, OCB increased 2.75%, and NAB increased 3.05%.

Real estate stocks traded quite positively, closing the session up 0.39%. Many stocks saw significant gains, including: TDC hitting its ceiling price at 12,300 VND/share, NLG up 6.58%, NVL up 2.29%, PDR up 2.69%, QCG up 2.96%, TCH up 5.56%, TDH up 3.72%, TIX up 6.76%, and others.

In addition, sectors such as consumer goods and home furnishings increased by 2.89%, utilities by 1.32%, transportation, healthcare, raw materials, distribution and retail, production materials, energy, food, beverages and tobacco saw slight increases.

Conversely, insurance, telecommunications, and software sectors closed in the red.

* The Vietnamese stock market index surged strongly at the end of today's session, with the VNXALL-Index closing up 10.92 points (+0.52%) at 2,117.01 points. Total market liquidity reached 501.65 million units, equivalent to a trading value of VND 12,160.50 billion. Across the market, 207 stocks increased in price, 89 remained unchanged, and 172 decreased.

* On the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index closed at 223.01 points, up 0.35 points (+0.16%). Total trading volume reached over 36.71 million units, with a corresponding transaction value of over 537.24 billion VND. Across the entire exchange, there were 85 gainers, 66 unchanged stocks, and 63 losers.

The HNX30 index closed down 0.44 points (-0.10%) at 463.85 points. Trading volume reached approximately 17.81 million units, with a corresponding value of over 368.09 billion VND. Among the HNX30 stocks, 10 increased, 8 remained unchanged, and 12 decreased.

On the UPCoM market, the UPCoM Index rose, closing at 94.30 points, up 0.42 points (+0.45%). Total market liquidity reached over 61.03 million shares traded, with a corresponding trading value of over 631.33 billion VND. Among UPCoM stocks, 213 ended the trading day higher, 102 remained unchanged, and 109 declined.

* On the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed up 5.42 points (+0.43%) at 1,265.05 points. Trading volume reached over 536.19 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 12,209.03 billion. Across the entire exchange, there were 258 gainers, 61 unchanged stocks, and 195 losers.

The VN30 index rose 5.05 points (+0.38%) to 1,337.59 points. Trading volume reached over 166.61 million units, equivalent to a transaction value of VND 5,270.05 billion. At the end of the trading day, 20 VN30 stocks increased, 5 remained unchanged, and 5 decreased.

The five stocks with the highest trading volume were VIX (over 23.38 million units), GEX (over 20.51 million units), DIG (over 17.52 million units), LPB (over 14.66 million units), and HDB (over 11.21 million units).

The five stocks with the highest price increases were QNP (6.99%), TDC (6.96%), GEE (6.95%), DCL (6.92%), and GEX (6.88%).

The five stocks with the biggest price drops were CTI (-6.98%), HRC (-6.95%), FUEIP100 (-6.82%), YEG (-6.43%), and PGI (-6.24%).

* Today's derivatives market saw 156,836 contracts traded, with a value of VND 21,046.95 billion.
