QTO - In order to help poor households and families entitled to preferential policies have a more fulfilling life, Quang Ninh commune has actively implemented social welfare programs in recent times, thereby helping many disadvantaged families have more motivation to improve their lives.

Receiving a gift from the Fatherland Front and the Quang Ninh commune government during the recent Lunar New Year of the Horse, Mr. Le Viet Ro, from Le Ky 2 village, emotionally shared: “My family is in difficult circumstances, and we are fortunate to have received a small gift from the commune during Tet. The gift not only has material value but also serves as a source of encouragement for my family to overcome difficulties.”

It is known that Mr. Le Viet Ro's family is in extremely difficult circumstances. He himself is disabled and unable to walk. His wife is also frequently ill and does not have a stable job.

In early 2026, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Ai, from Luong Yen village, Quang Ninh commune, received her newly built "Great Solidarity" house. Unable to hide her joy, Ms. Ai said: “This is the first time in my life I’ve had a sturdy house to protect me from the sun and rain. Without the care of the State and local authorities, I don’t know when I would have been able to build a house for myself. Celebrating Tet in my new home this year makes me very happy and grateful.”

With the motto "Leaving no one behind," the Party Committee, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Ninh commune, and political and social organizations have launched movements such as "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" and "The whole country joins hands for the poor." These practical activities have contributed to supporting disadvantaged families in overcoming difficulties.

To ensure the effectiveness of these movements, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune and political and social organizations have intensified propaganda work on the traditional values ​​of "mutual support" and "helping those in need" of the nation. Through this, they have mobilized all strata of the people, cadres, civil servants, employees, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to actively support the "Fund for the Poor". Since the beginning of the year, the commune has raised nearly 600 million VND, assisting poor households, near-poor households, policy beneficiary families, and families with particularly difficult circumstances, contributing to ensuring social security in the area.

During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Horse (2016), Quang Ninh commune organized the "Spring of Love" program, distributing 142 gift packages to near-poor households and 106 gift packages to poor households, each worth 1 million VND; policy beneficiary families and people with meritorious services received support ranging from 300,000 to 600,000 VND per household. The commune government also organized delegations to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiary families, poor households, social welfare recipients, and units on duty during Tet... The total number of gifts distributed to disadvantaged and policy beneficiary families during the recent Lunar New Year was over 2,000, with a total value exceeding 1.5 billion VND.

In addition to visiting and giving gifts to poor households during Tet (Lunar New Year), since the beginning of the year, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and political and social organizations have actively and effectively supported poor households through various forms, helping them to improve their lives and achieve stability.

The Fatherland Front Committee of the commune called for and connected with businesses to support the construction of "Great Solidarity" houses for poor households; coordinated propaganda and mobilization of mass organizations and the people to join hands in implementing the "Eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses" movement in the area; mobilized members and people to visit, give gifts, and provide support and assistance totaling nearly 500 days of labor. To date, the entire commune has 160 houses for people with meritorious services to the revolution and 11 houses for poor and near-poor households that have been implemented and completed on schedule.

According to Pham Trung Dong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Quang Ninh commune: Social welfare activities for the poor have been a priority for the commune's government and socio-political organizations. Especially during the recent Lunar New Year (Year of the Horse), the commune implemented many comprehensive solutions, coordinating with the government, functional departments, and member organizations to organize visits, encouragement, and support for the poor, policy beneficiary families, and disadvantaged families, with the goal of ensuring everyone has a warm and joyful Tet holiday. In the coming time, the commune will continue to promote and encourage officials, workers, and the people to actively join hands in supporting, helping, and sharing materially and spiritually with those in difficult circumstances, thereby helping them gradually stabilize their lives.
