Spring in the New Land
Today, Tuyen Quang is vast and rich in potential, with development opportunities opened up by the convergence of two heritage regions: the majestic mountains and unique culture of Ha Giang and the historical and revolutionary heritage of Tuyen Quang. Its large area is not just a geographical figure, but a springboard for creating strategic visions, so that spring in this land is not only a cycle of nature but also a spring of change and development.

Amidst the fading peach blossoms, the white pear blossoms, the early-harvest cornfields, and the vibrant spring market, the people of these two regions now share a common administrative roof and a shared belief in a brighter future. A streamlined system, a more spacious new environment, and more equitable development opportunities are all kindling hopes for a Tuyen Quang that will shine brightly in this era of renewal.
Looking at the administrative and spatial planning after the merger, the spirit of spring is clearly evident: innovation, harmony, and a forward-looking approach. The two-tiered government model, uniformly applied throughout the province, is like a breath of fresh air, helping to streamline the administrative apparatus, avoid duplication, and suit the unique characteristics of the vast mountainous region.
The new province has 7 wards and 117 communes that have been re-planned according to the principle of rationalizing the population, ensuring accessibility to public services for people, especially in the mountainous and remote areas that were formerly part of Ha Giang . This arrangement is like a skilled craftsman pruning branches to prepare a tree for a new flowering season – neat yet maintaining strong and enduring vitality.
In the new administrative space, the greatest advantage is not only the reduction of administrative layers but also the ability to organize the development of the entire province as a unified whole. Urban and rural planning, land use, infrastructure, services, regional economy, etc., will be designed with a comprehensive vision, no longer fragmented by the boundaries of two provinces as before.
The organizational harmony also facilitates the equitable allocation of resources, ensuring that the previously isolated mountainous regions are not left behind in development. The transportation, healthcare, education, and public service systems are planned to expand along the North-South axis of the new province, linking central urban areas with highland villages, like spring flower-lined roads connecting different regions. Along with standardized personnel, equipment, and infrastructure after the merger, the new Tuyen Quang government apparatus promises to operate smoothly and uniformly, laying the foundation for development in the new phase.
Laying the groundwork for spring's growth.
The springtime of Tuyen Quang is not only evident in its natural landscapes but also radiates through the aspirations for development being ignited throughout the province. With its vast territory and strategic location in the Northeast, Tuyen Quang has the conditions to plan a synchronized inter-regional transportation network: opening routes connecting the northern rocky plateau to the central region, linking with the provinces of the Northern Midlands and Delta, and connecting with airports and seaports via expressways.

The spring routes connecting the two old lands today not only bring people to visit and exchange New Year greetings, but also carry goods, investment opportunities, and meetings to open up new collaborations. The newly formed land has diverse advantages for economic development: agriculture and forestry in the valleys and mountain slopes in the North; processing industries linked to vast raw material areas; ecotourism, community tourism, ethnic culture, and revolutionary heritage; and services and trade developing in the administrative center of Tuyen Quang.
According to Comrade Le Thanh Son, Director of the Department of Construction: The open space and synchronized planning will help the province easily organize economic growth zones, development corridors, and key tourist areas, creating a colorful and vibrant "economic spring garden".
Ha Giang is renowned for its majestic limestone landscapes and the rich cultural traditions of the Mong, Dao, Tay, and Nung ethnic groups; Tuyen Quang, on the other hand, boasts a rich history of revolutionary struggle, scenic landscapes, and a diverse forest ecosystem. The merger will create a more diverse and interconnected tourism landscape across the province. A single journey can take you from the mountainous city of Tuyen Quang to the rocky plateau, or from Song Lo to Dong Van, each destination offering its own unique charm, yet all within a unified plan that facilitates promotion, investment, and management.
Spring is a new beginning, and every new beginning requires fairness. In the new planning, the province prioritizes the development of disadvantaged areas, especially the highland communes of the former Ha Giang province, to ensure that no one is left behind. Investments in education, infrastructure, healthcare, digital transformation, social welfare, etc., will be strategically directed to improve people's lives, so that the spring of renewal can reach every home and every village.
Comrade Phan Huy Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Tuyen Quang is currently facing great opportunities: a vast open space, a streamlined administrative apparatus, diverse tourism and economic potential, and an important strategic location. However, it also faces significant challenges: complex terrain, large investment needs, inter-regional management requirements, and the challenge of preserving culture and nature.
Nevertheless, like a seed sprouting from the earth each spring, the will and aspirations of the people here remain strong. When the two regions are united, when the spring of change arrives on every mountain range, every river, every street corner, Tuyen Quang has the right to believe in a long journey of development, worthy of its name as the "Capital of the Liberation Zone - Capital of the Resistance," now becoming the focal point of renewal.
This spring, on the map of Vietnam, the new Tuyen Quang is not just a change in administrative boundaries, but the beginning of a great journey, a promise to the future, a spring of unity, consensus, and sustainable development.
